This is one of the most unique properties we have ever stayed in. Snuggled against the lush mountain side with a spectacular view of the lagoon, the Vanira Lodge is a must if in the Teahupoo area. We stayed here in 2015 and it was magical. We were so excited to be back and it was just as magical as the first time. Merci!

Had an amazing time here! Everyone who worked here was so friendly! They view from our bungalow (Maara) was breathtaking, as was the view from the restaurant. The food and drinks were great, the ground were very nicely manicured and beautiful and the pool was clean and refreshing. Wish we could have stayed here longer! Thanks!!!!

Beautiful and unique “hobbit cabins” in far south Tahiti… two warm pools, fish ponds, amazing flowers and foliage, fantastic sunsets, great breakfast. Be aware that the bungalows are open to the elements and there may be a short uphill walk from the parking lot. Nets are provided for the beds and we didn’t have a serious issue with bugs. There are also chickens wandering the grounds, which is fun.

Wonderful views and the whole site on the side of a mountain has Fairy Terns and long tailed Tropic birds flying over. We stayed for seven nights in bungalow Vai Iti - bliss.

A really beautiful area with natural surroundings. The hut is an open air space that is made of natural wood and makes you feel like you a staying in a tree house. The grounds are gorgeous with 2 pools and a volleyball net.

Beautiful, unique resort in the jungle

Vanira Lodge was a great choice for our last night in French Polynesia after a great trip. It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive from PPT but well worth it. Great restaurant, amazing views from the hill and a gorgeous jungle setting. Each bungalow is one of a kind. If we came back with kids it would work great.

This place is very unique and cool to stay at. We stayed in a partially open plan unit, slept under mosquito nets, and the shower and kitchen were open to nature. The views were spectacular. the nature units are not for those timid with little creatures. This felt like ultra luxury glamping, loved it!

South Pacific Bliss

A really great place - a little rustic, but comfortable and beautiful. The restaurant is very good, and the staff is sweet. Be sure to book a cottage with air conditioning - it’s basically rainforest and there are lots mosquitoes. But sitting a private hot tub overlooking the Pacific is divine.

This is like a hillside garden paradise overlooking Teahupo’o and surrounding ocean. Staff is as accommodating as one can get. They are marvelous. The chef is a young man that cooks excellent meals. The bungalow was immaculately clean and one also feels living in nature. Like high quality glamping but perhaps better. The shampoo and shower gel is divine (Tiare).

We loved our stay at Vanira Lodge. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We were in Vai Ora and the views were stunning. We especially enjoyed the hot tub on our terrace and having AC in the bedroom. The only thing that might be an issue for some people are the lizards and small worms that share the space. The lizards were on the terrace, but the little worms were in the bedroom. The property lets you know in advance and it didn't bother us, but it's good to be aware before you book. Overall we had a fabulous time and hope to go back!

This is a fabulous place at the end of the road on Tahiti Iti. Our accommodation had fans and mosquito netting and was open to the elements, but no air conditioning and very limited Wi-Fi access. It offered a wonderful back-to-nature experience, but it is very hot and humid in Tahiti so anyone staying here will want to be comfortable without A/C. I believe other units in the complex do have A/C, and the two pools are lovely and cool. The views are gorgeous and dinner at the restaurant was spectacular.

The grounds are beautiful and the bungalows are a fun experience but….. understand if you stay here, you will be sleeping with bugs and critters, they are open rooms. The screen around the bed helps. Also, there is no air conditioning. If you book this on Expedia, do not expect to be able to change the dates or rooms. It makes you cancel and rebook, and keep in mind, the room you originally booked will not show up. The Kava room was beautiful. The Ofai room not as much.

Centipedes, spiders, armies of ants all over our bungalow. We kept all of our luggage closed and off the main tables (ants). A critter also ate through my backpack and a sealed granola package.
Beautiful, but if mobility is an issue, consider the walking, hills and stairs.

We liked everything about Vanira Lodge, in particular the quirky accommodation, the grounds, the views, the restaurant, the roosters and the wonderfully helpful and friendly owners and staff. The driveway to the lodge was potentially a bit tricky if a vehicle was coming from the opposite direction, but that never happened during our stay. In summary, I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying staying at Vanira Lodge.

We were very lucky to get a window of vacancy at this stunning property. It is more beautiful the pictures because the stunning, breath taking and sweeping views fill your soul from sunrise to sunset and even including the star gazing!. The staff are lovely and friendly, the food is delicious creatively blending Polynesian and French influences. The accommodation huts give you the feeling of being transported into Tahitian life ❤️
