Excellent hotel and staff!

Beautiful hotel and wonderful service, we had a fantastic stay in Siracusa! The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, and we had a perfect view of Ortigia and the sea from our balcony. Incredible pool, free parking on site, beautiful grounds and convenient to get into Ortigia — what more can you ask for?

Very beautiful old hotel, elegant. Pool is fantastic! Room was lovely but the front desk controls the air conditioning and we froze. The electricity went out multiple times and you need your room card to activate it. Other than that, excellent breakfast, great parking.

There is an elegance of a past era about the place and it is well maintained. The breakfasts were a highlight with a wide range of options, well prepared and arranged. Our room had a small balcony with a view, was well appointed and comfortable. The negatives were a tiny shower cubicle in the bathroom and the sound insulation from neighbouring rooms was not good.

Faded Grandeur

We chose this hotel because we have friends who live nearby and because it looked interesting. It’s definitely faded grandeur, large public spaces, good sized bedroom, outdoor seating and a lovely pool and everything worked.The downside was the breakfast, great the first day but then seemed to have a limited supply of fresh fruit etc. The coffee was unspeakably awful. The walk into the centre of Ortiga is about 25 mins and around 15 euros for a taxi but in the day the red tour bus, 10 euros, hop on hop off, stops very close to the hotel and opposite a great little restaurant

Hot, hot, hot.

Grand Hotel in the old style. Good rooms. Good Air Con. Very good pool. Breakfast was good if you ignored the very poor cold bacon and eggs. Evening meal was ok if rather unimaginative. Bar seating area was tiny and without character. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Hotel is located too far from Oritigia which is where everything is.Theres next to nothing in Syracuse. 80pc of food on Sicily is fish. It is insanely hot on Sicily. Syracuse has a mad, chaotic traffic system add to that mad, chaotic Italian drivers and you permanently have life threatening chaos. Valetta on Malta is better.
