Accommodation is of very high quality after a recent refurbishment - I stayed here pre-refurbishment also and it is a huge improvement. My double room was very large, with a big en-suite bathroom that included a great walk-in shower. Lift access from the bar is easy. Great breakfast included at the cafe a couple of doors down. Location is great and very convenient for anyone wanting to stay close to Sydney Harbour, Circular Quay or Sydney CBD.

Thus establishment we found to be a perfect place to stay over night before our cruise ship leaves. Staff food music rooms and the fellow who checked us in were 100% no complaints at all. Room was excellent

This is a lovely, historic, pub hotel. I believe that it has recently been completely refreshed. My room was great. My only concerns were related to the communication process. Being inexperienced with staying in a pub might be part of it. Checking in seemed fine, but returning to the hotel at 11:15pm, I found that I was locked out of the pub entrance so I proceeded to the door that I had been told was the after-hours door, but I couldn't see any "normal" key-card scanner. Luckily there was someone still behind the bar and I was able to knock and get their attention and they pointed out the very small, black button that I was meant to use. Being in my 70's, female, late, and alone probably made me more nervous than I should have been. (The streets felt very safe, FYI.) My second concern also could have been eliminated with a little better communication or info in the room. At my check-out at 9am, the pub is closed, and inaccessible. There is no one about. I wanted to store my luggage for a few hours and I wished that I had been told in advance that this would be the case. Other than these communication issues, I had a lovely stay, and I would be happy to return!

Love the old style pub and its history. Comfortable but showing its age, room was noise due to work being done on the block behind the building just outside our bath room window, but the bath room door was water damaged and could not be closed. Would stay again, there appears to be plans to do work on the build in 2024

The location was excellent, we walk here with our luggage from a cruise ship, it was 4 blocks. It is close to light rail, ferries busses and the train system. good dining at the pub and close to other dining venues. Close to the Harbor bridge with good access. An elevator would be helpful, but we were assisted with getting our luggage to the third floor. I would be happy to stay there again.

Great location but the noise wasn't appreciated. Not the hotel's fault. Council decided to clean the footpaths from 6.30 pm till late and then the building next door was undergoing renovations and started pneumatic hammering at 7.00 am. Destroyed my intended restful sleep. Great staff and food was excellent value too.

The location of this Hotel is amazing. Right in The Rocks and walking distance to Circular Quay, it doesn’t get any better. The staff were friendly too. Unfortunately though it is in dire need of some TLC. I believe they will be closed for renovations in 2024 which is very much needed. The bathrooms are in poor condition, with paint peeling and mould. The showers are poor, with either no water pressure or they don't get hot at all. The rooms were basic but comfortable. Overall, you get whay you pay for and for the price and a place to sleep, it met those requirements.

We arrived late on a Saturday, no problem the pub was busy so found someone who came to check us in. The room was clean and nice to find somewhere with twin beds. We quickly realised they would be better off with double glazed windows as you can hear everyone outside along with the music so that first night it was gone 3am till we finally got some sleep but 0630 someone was using a vacuum or a blender and it went on for ages. The building is old and you can tell from pain peeling but it wasn’t an issue. The location was brilliant and if you are there to join in with the drinking brilliant. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay.
