Great first time stay

Great hotel, very surprised at the cleanliness as other hotels don't have that comfy clean atmosphere, staff were very attentive, will definately be back!

Great hotel, great price

Amazing hotel and central to the shopping area. Rooms were clean and cosy. Toilets are spotless and love the stay here. Only negative is that there is no lifts so you will need to carry your bag up the stairs

It was a very good stay. Very well located, near town hall station (where you get everything for everywhere), refurbished room, good spacious, good bathroom, good bed. The only remark is there is no breakfast, but there is a dulce gusto machine (free) and several coffee shops very close. I recommend the stay.

Great location and a good pub!

Great location, accomodating staff. I knew there was no elevator, so can't complain about that! Pub was great for happy hour and dinner. Bathroom was smallish and reminded me of being in an RV, but knew about that too. All in all a good place to stay for a couple of days.

Decent little hotel. Small rooms but good if you want something cheap and easy in the CBD. Good for young people travelling and people who just want somewhere to sleep and leave their things. Felt secure, room was clean, and they were happy to look after our bags for us on our last day after checkout till we were ready to head to their airport.

The location is brilliant, close to Town Hall and etc, but the window looks to all construction side and noise bad; in shower the handle wasn’t working and basin not working too; others are ok for night stay.

Friendly hotel in city centre.

Nice comfy room. Friendly welcome. Fairly quiet for a city centre hotel. Food in the bar is good, with daily specials, Mon-Thu. The hotel is an art deco building from the 1930s, so don't expect a lift. Town Hall station just a couple of minutes walk.

Good stay at Criterion

Good location , great for what I needed. The manger showed me to my room , turned on tv , said it was tricky and then left . Only local stations able to be accessed but okay by me. Up 3 flights of stairs so could be a problem if you had lots of luggage. Very quiet which was surprising due to its central local. Reno is good , bubble shower good

The shower/bathroom had a backed up sewage smell after the first night and the drain in the shower doesnt drain properly. Pools of water were still there for all the night we stayed. The air conditioning unit in the room would also blowout these black chunks of plastic or foam like material and would get all over the mattress.

Great staff & location. Easy to get transport, nightlife & food. Old trendy pub, tidy and clean rooms. But my only negative would be that it has a weird smell coming from bathroom, which it could be due to that fact that the shower properly needs a shower curtin-The water from shower floods the bathroom & wets the carpet near bathroom. (or it might be the drains)

Art Deco building has great character. One thing to improve would be having a screen or door on the shower as the floor was saturated every time I used the shower.

Good for the money, seperate entrance from the pub which is nice. Rooms were mostly clean but some odd stains on pillows and other areas. No lift so be ready to climb a lot of stairs.
