Clean room with daily housekeeping and fresh towels. Free upgrade on checking in and I was able to store my luggage for a couple hours after I had checked out. They also have a free drink coupon. Hotel increases in vibe on Friday/saturday.

Staff was extremely courteous, room was a good size. Only two issues. Found the bed and pillows to be too soft but that is based on our personal preference. Breakfast was terrible and very expensive. 1st order oh hash browns was overcooked, replacement was too oily to eat.

Everything and everyone were exceptional! Staff at the front desk and bar and restaurant staff were not only amazing but extremely accommodating! Not sure when my next trip to Sydney will be but Ace will be my first choice.

Friendly staff at check-in - I was able to drop my heavy backpack hours before checkin began. Clean and beautiful room that still looks new. Great location close to train stations, Aldi and many food options. Only negative was that one of the bar staff was unfriendly and borderline rude. A comment that my friends also made during our catchup in the lobby. This is not what I expect from Ace properties after frequenting them since 2009.

Stayed at Ace Hotel Sydney and absolutely loved it! The location in Surry Hills was perfect for exploring the city. The design is stylish and comfy with retro-chic touches that make you feel at home. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. My room was clean, quiet (despite the lively lobby), and had all the comfortable bits we needed. For anyone visiting Sydney and looking for somewhere that’s fun yet relaxing, this is it — highly recommend!

Bed was really comfortable but lights were confusing as we couldn’t read the instructions on how to switch on/off. No soap for the hand basin so had to use soap from the shower. Toilet got blocked but that was quickly dealt with. It was a convenient spot and the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was delicious and not pricey.

I would not stay here again. I realize, however, that my objections have more to do with my age and expectations of comfort. The building is centrally located, beautiful and stylish, it’s clean, the staff are very friendly, and this would be a great place to stay if I was young and single and just needed a place to crash. The downsides start with the entrance - the entryway has several sharp steps upward which make lugging suitcases up them a little tricky. The small room is tiny - there’s no view, no space, nowhere to store anything, and no privacy - the bathroom has a thin glass door with no lock, so everything is fairly visible, every sound and smell present in the room. Not great for two people. The vanity is in the tiny room and the lighting is garish. The bed, however, is super comfy.
