Let me just take a second to give a massive thank you to Jackie, the proprietor, for saving my butt last night! I had a very late arrival and completely forgot to call ahead. Could well have been sleeping in my car for the night. But Jackie made sure to not only go drop my key for pickup on arrival, but she also made sure my room was nice and cool when I got there. The Angel of Sussex they call her. Book this place!

This motel looks like it's from the 1970's, but we liked the retro feel of the place. When we arrived to check in, there was a police car with its lights on sitting in the parking lot and a used blue exam glove in the parking lot next to our space (just a little disconcerting!) Both were gone when we returned from our function. Our room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The sheets weren't very soft, but there were two soft blankets on the bed, so I slept between those. The air conditioner worked very well, although it was up so high on the wall that my husband had to stand on a chair to adjust the temperature (we were warned about this upon check-in.). All in all, a comfortable night's stay, especially for the price. If we're ever in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

The property is likely a work in progress. The check in procedure was a little unconventional but not inconvenient. The manager was very friendly and accommodating. The exterior of the property was not spectacular however the room was very charming, comfortable, and looked recently renovated. I would absolutely stay there again.

The outside of the motel was a bit worn, but the room was clearly newly renovated. It was very clean, well-appointed, good wi-fi for streamed tv, and had a generous supply of fluffy towels. The one drawback was the outside floodlights that beamed directly into the (upstairs) room all night.
