Spring break!

This hotel is nice and clean, recently remodeled. The staff was friendly and helpful. We brought a small dog and appreciated that there was no extra charge. The only downside to the stay was the motorcycle noise. We were there during spring and did not think about motorcycle rallies and events. The bikes were loud and arriving throughout the night and leaving in the early morning. No fault of the hotel, just something to consider if you are traveling during spring break! Overall a great and pleasant stay!

Clean room except for the floors. Told the manager after the first night that my white socks turned dark brown on the bottom and he cleaned the floor that morning. Much better but it will take more cleaning. This was attributed to new floor construction.... No pool working. Closed. No breakfast. Coffee is in the lobby if the manager unlocks the lobby to let you in. Front desk is behind plexiglass. Room door needs replacement... Worn. Bathroom door needs replacement... Hole and the latch plate doesn't work. Yes fridge and microwave working fine. Comfy bed. Great TV.

We got in around 9 pm and were out by 7 am. and both times I had to wake the attendant. The room was clean and floor looks new. The microwave is on the frig needs to be addressed, as it vibrated all night, on and off. No breakfast offered, and I think it was part of purchase. I gave them a 25.00 deposit , and did not receive correct change and had to ask for my deposit back when leaving.

It's rare that I write reviews unless something really stands out to me but this Red Roof Inn has to be the best budget hotel in the Sumter area. The price is great, the rooms are exactly as pictured and are nicely remodeled. Beds are comfortable and the location the convenient you could ever ask for (The mall is literally a 5 min walk away). The thing that really stuck out to me, however, was the customer service. I only stayed one night but made a small mistake reserving online (rushing, user error) and was afraid I would not be able to check-in that day but the gentleman at the desk went out of his way to make sure I had no issues and was able to check in! I also had to go to the front desk a few times for minor things that I needed or to ask questions about the area and the owner was super helpful and accommodating. For a hotel in this price range I can guarantee you that you will find nothing better and this is a no-brainer. If I'm ever in Sumter and have to stay overnight again; this is where I will be staying!

Overall, the experience was not horrible for what we paid. The room was clean. Nevertheless the bathroom/shower needs work. New shower heads are necessary. This includes updating amenities like adequate soap, towels, shower curtain, hair dryer, a mat or rug upon entrance. Example: it was a rainy day and our shoes were wet. There was no mat/rug to wipe feet, put suitcases on to avoid tracking the water all over the floor. Check out time is 11am. Our key was deactivated the morning before 10am. My husband went to get breakfast and was locked out.

They are a RIP OFF!! I booked several rooms, AND PAID IN ADVANCE, for many days for several of our employees because we are working out of state, for quite awhile. We had a Sunday off, so some of our guys drove home for a day and a half, only to find that they had been booted from their rooms. After HOURS of dealing with Expedia, I was PROMISED refunds for the rooms. I still haven’t seen the refunds. I didn’t even get a promise of a refund on one room, so I am out HUNDREDS of dollars. Book a room there at your own risk.
