We stayed in this hotel to be in the Gerainger fjord area (35 minute drive away). The hotel is dated and actually has an alpine lodge retro feel (lots of wood, pine and stuffed animal heads). But that’s ok unless you want a 21st century 4/5 star modern hotel. We had a family room that was under the dining room and were woken at 7am every morning by chairs being dragged across the floor above! Horrendous noise. Breakfast was ok but basic. You either eat in Gerainger or Stryn for dinner/late lunch or you have to eat at the hotel evening buffet. We didn’t eat there but I’m sure it would be basic enough. The shuffleboard in the games room didn’t have the required granules on it and the pool cues were broken so that was a pointless room. Our stay was made even worse by having some of my wife’s jewellery stolen from our room. To be fair, the manager was very apologetic and facilitated the police report. But even if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you wake at 7 every morning and intend to hike all day and don’t care for a comfortable modern hotel. It was not worth the money. Great fjord, great scenery - not a great hotel. It trades on its location.

Enkelt og greit - middagen er overpriset

Lokasjon nydelig i fjellet. Enkelt og greit, ser tiltak gjort for fornying. Hovedsakelig midt på treet - usikker på om verdt prisen. Største er at middagsbuffeten koster 520 kroner per pers og inkluderer ikke et glass brus engang. Maten tilsvarer heller ikke prisen, halvkokt pasta og kald ris. Det er 40 min til Stryn hvis man vil ha noe annet restaurant-mat så spis før man kommer og spar mange kroner.

Grundsätzlich war das Hotel für eine Nacht in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war jedoch sehr in die Jahre gekommen - insbesondere das Badezimmer würde eine Renovierung vertragen. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot viel Auswahl, jedoch war die Qualität verbesserungswürdig. Speisesaal mit Kantinenflair. Die Lage ist toll und der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer sehr schön. Parkplatz direkt vorm Haus.

Ser att många klagat på standarden på Videseter. Jag tycker att det framgår av bilderna vad man kan förvänta sig så vi blev inte besvikna. Snarare tyckte vi att det var fräschare än vad vi trott. Rummet hade otrolig utsikt och var faktiskt riktigt svalt trots att solen låg på och verkligen gassade - men med ett betonghus blir det inte olidligt varmt. Vi gillade sängkläderna och kuddarna och sov gott alla fyra. Frukosten var ok, inte mer. Men ändå. Vi är jättenöjda med vår natt. Inget att klaga på! (Möjligtvis att det inte fanns sand så att inte inte kunde köra shuffleboard.)

Medioker Hotellupplevelse, receptionen hade inte öppet 24/7 utan stängde vid midnatt om man inte innan kommit överens om detta. Positivt Hundvänligt, kostade 300NOK extra. Underbar utsikt från rummet, obeskrivligt vackert. Bra städade rum Gott om parkering Avskilt från det mesta, blir inte störd av annat. Mysig och äldre stil i lobbyn. Gott om aktiviteter såsom spel och fina delar att umgås på. Negativt Dyrt Hävdar att det finns elbilladdning, men när man kommer fram är alla ur funktion. Finns ingen laddning i direkt närhet, så se till att ladda upp innan. Finns inga lättillgängliga platser i närjeten, dvs inga affärer eller restauranger. Enda restauranger som finns är hotellets, där man erbjuder en medioker buffée för 520NOK/person?!?!?! Hutlöst dyrt. Hotellets faciliteter och rum är inte särskilt moderna, det mesta är slitet.

Nice clean hotel with a fantastic view from the hotel rooms. The rooms are very basic and small with narrow beds. No AC in the bedroom, but it cools down at night. The windows opens up completely for a spectacular view of the valley below. The Videfossen waterfall is right next to the hotel. The complementary breakfast has a good variety of items and good. The common areas and lounges are spacious and with large windows facing the valley. The staff was helpful with directing us to attractions and hikes.

Room with a view

The view was incredible and the staff were great. The rooms are old but comfortable. The breakfast foods were all cold even the normally hot ones. The games were fun for the family. The waterfall was fantastic!

Slitent hotell med fin utsikt

Flott utsikt og enkel parkering. Utenom dette er det et heller slitent hotell. Merker at det er gammelt og luktet kattetiss på rommet. Kom nok utenfra men var merkbart selv med vinduet lukket. Frokost helt ok men ikke mer. Kunne trengt en større oppussing snart da det virker slitt.
