The stay was perfect. The hotel is established and you feel the history and class when you are walking in. The hotel staff is always available from unpacking your car and delivery your luggage on arrival to picking your luggage and packing your car back during departure. The service is incredible. The restaurant and bar are good with the variety of choices.

beautiful and palatial! this building was just what I was looking for as our first stop on the lakes breakfast was plentiful and in a great dining room bar was expensive and outdoor bar even more so but Spa made up for it - absolutely amazing! I loved every minute of that pool and the amenities of the Spa area. The room was small but beautifully appointed

Unforgettable Stay in a paradisiac environment

We enjoyed our time in this marvelous hotel every minute. It was one of the most memorable stay, the hotel being an architectural highlight and disposing of a highly professional staff. The spa is as impressive as the beautiful environment of the hotel.

Overall very pleased. Hotel’s location & room’s lake view were fabulous! Breakfast buffet was excellent. King room was a good size for 2 people. Room price included pool & spa amenities which were clean & outstanding. Absolutely no complaints except this one - The mattress was old and uncomfortable due to a large sleepers indentation. Definitely time to replace the mattress in room 310!

A fabulous Grand Hotel

Des Iles Borromees is a hotel that prides itself on delivery and presentation of classic Victorian age elegance and style, with a modern twist. The restored building is fabulous and the rooms are finished to the same standard. Attention to detail by the hotel staff is superb and everything is delivered with a smile. We will definitely return in the future.

This is a stunning hotel and was like staying in a palace. The spa and indoor pool were fantastic especially as it rained during our stay. The Hemingway bar was a great place for a drink in the evening with relaxing live music. Some of the room decor is a bit dated. Especially the drapes, bed covers and curtains but otherwise it was a very special place to stay.

This is one of our favorite hotels in the world. It is Old-World glam, and was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway's. The dining and hospitality are wonderful. We also love the sweet town of Stressa, set on Lago Maggiore. We went Baromee island hopping to beat the heat. The ferry stop was a few minutes stroll from the Hotel. Was all in all an unforgettable experience - and our second time there. We willbe back! .
