It was such a unique experience. Lovely hotel very well kept. It was like going back in time. Central location, very close to the Avon theatre. The hotel personnel was so helpful in getting us settled in. I would definitely stay there again!

Excellent location, shops and restaurants right around the corner, theaters nearby. Simple but nice breakfast. Friendly staff, although not always easy to find as they don't have a front desk but rely on texting. Parking next to building.

The room was very clean. My wife and I were worried about the street noise as the hotel is on a main street. But after 11:00 it was fairly quiet. No problem sleeping. An enjoyable night.

Cute little old fashioned room. Super clean. Tiny little bathroom but no issues with it. Patio out front was nice spot to have our glass of wine before dinner. Beds were perfect. Fireplace can probably have the pilot light turned off now to reduce the heat load on the room. Continental Breakfast looked delicious. Bagels and yogurt. Beverages and water in room was appreciated. Little boutique hotels are a favourite. Check in Staff was super helpful getting us settled.

My coffee service did not work. I reported it to Mya, but it was not addressed. It took several minutes for the water to get warm enough to take a shower, maybe 5? And then it was just luke warm. My husband took a shower after me, and he said it was very warm. Parking was appreciated and the location is great.

About the hotel itself, I have nothing but good things to say. Despite there being no front/receptionist desk (you have to contact their sister Hotel The Windsor Hotel) and no actual keys (both the hotel door and the room doors use numerical button plates with a code to or each provided when you check in), the rooms are quite comfortable and large enough to move around in; my own room could have accommodated two (a four-poster bed and a sofa bed). The hotel itself is walking distance from all three theaters and the downtown shopping/restaurant area, there is a large parking immediately next door, and despite it bring located on a major two-way street I personally was never disturbed by any noise whatsoever. The continental breakfast was quite good, with the food left for the guests to serve themselves. All in all, a very good place for singles or couples to stay at.

We were in a Junior Suite, room 1, with a Queen bed and Double sofa bed. Our main complaint was with the odd layout of the room. It was clear it used to be two different rooms that they combined to make a larger room. However, the toilet was on one side, and the shower on the other side (each in an enclosed bathroom). There is a sink on either side of the room. When the sofa bed was extended out, it was very challenging to get to the toilet from the side of the room with the Queen bed. There was an odd pillar near the opening of the toilet bathroom door that added to the difficulty of moving around. Otherwise, the room was clean and the staff was helpful. The individual air conditioner in the room worked well. There were nice snacks available for free in the foyer. The continental breakfast was located a 5 min walk away in their sister hotel.

Pros: great location, nice little bistro seating area out front. Light continental breakfast was appreciated. Cons: room is quite quirky. Bathroom is split in half - shower on one side of the suite and toilet on the other side of the suite. There were three of us in the room. The pull out couch could be opened but you could not get to the toilet from the bedroom without crawling over the couch. We made it work but was strange lol We had a couple of hiccups upon arrival. The staff were very quick to respond. Not sure if I would stay there again but we did make it work.

I had a four-night stay at the Stratford Hotel. It was an agreeable experience: the room was well equipped, spacious if oddly laid out (the bathtub was off the sitting area and the toilet in a separate room by the bed, plus two sinks!) and the location was good. Breakfast didn’t transpire (maybe that’s only during festival season?) but I parked for free in the hotel lot, which I guess was a compensation. Sound insulation (between rooms and from the street) is imperfect, but they do provide earplugs. I felt this was good value for what I got.
