Clean, quiet and convenient.

Came to stay for an early morning interview. Was on train and delayed so was worried I might not make it. The owners were great and reassured me. Clean tidy too. Lovely comfy bed and quiet.

Central pub with rooms.

A nice pub with rooms which is perfect for all the shops, pubs and restaurants in Stockton. Stayed on business so ideal - nice staff, easy quick check in and out. Parking is free after 5pm on the streets outside.

Lovely landlady

Lovely landlady and locals, landlady was very friendly and really informative regarding our stay. She was kind enough to provide an upgrade on one of the rooms too! Pub immaculately clean!

Ok for the price.

Helpful staff bur poor location in a run-down area. For what we paid it was ok. The room wasn't particularly clean but the bedding and towels were excellent. All the door hinges would benefit from some oil as they squeaked loudly when guests left in the early morning. All the loo seatas moved about and need tightening. These are just a couple of small points but would add to the comfort of a stay.

Stayed here a few times for work purposes ……. Good value for money …. Clean , comfy and convenient for town…… only down side is the stairs to all rooms ….. only an issue if you have mobility problems or lots of luggage !!!

Curtains did not fit. There was a large stain on the carpet from unknown origin. In the drawers there appeared to be mouse droppings. The light over the sink did not work. The bedding was clean. The person who we spoke to was helpfull. Cheap however.

I love that we did not need to move the car all weekend. Theres 24 hour parking that cost us no more than 3 pounds and Sunday was free. Very welcoming and easy check in. Room was as stated and very clean. Tea and coffee available in the room. We went for dinner at the peking garden that I 1000 percent reccomend and did a pub crawl from the hotel around town. An amazing night out and our 24 hour access key back into the hotel proved useful! The shower was amazing! Super warm and powerful. Easy check out. Thank you the hoptimist for being affordable, clean and welcoming

The Hoptimist

Its a nice comfortable place for the price. Its in a decent location, around the corner from the High Street, theres plenty of food options in the area also, some locals pubs too. If you do like a drink there is a cosy pub downsatirs that offers a selection of drinks a reasonable prices.
