“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “I’ve stayed here quite a few times when working in the area. Rooms are decent, clean. Would like a bigger tv but not the end of the world. Staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good. Most evenings I work too late to have evening food but I did eat one evening and had the most amazing Butter Chicken. Always the first place I look to book when I’m working in this area. ”
