Enjoyed staying in this historic, grand house. Easy check in. Room was spacious and clean. Plenty of nooks inside for sitting and relaxing. Several outdoor options for fresh air enjoyment. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for our anniversary and we loved it. The house itself is beautiful inside and out. Great spaces to convene for a tasty drink and a room to play a little pool. This Inn is in walking distance to downtown. Quite a lovely stroll, passing by history galore.
This property was gorgeous! Everything was very clean. I had a large spacious room and bathroom which was beautifully decorated. I also had a bonus sunroom area. Check-in was self-explanatory and easy. The common areas/outdoor areas were very nice. I would definitely stay there again. It beats staying at a hotel with lots of people and noise.
This was THE best place I have ever stayed. I was traveling with my four kiddos and husband and there was plenty of space for us. The free snacks and ice cream made the stay for them memorable. The building itself had been beautifully restored and the space is huge. There is a great quiet and picturesque place to read and a beautiful old library with a gorgeous pool table for some fun. I can’t wait to go back! Beds were super comfortable and everything was spotless. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Beautiful home, great location, can walk to downtown very easily. Garden is beautiful and access was easy. For the price, I would have expected a few more amenities like wine in the afternoon and such, but access is self-service so there is no one on property.
Beautiful private property, in the most gorgeous setting surrounded by mountains. Walking distance to so many fun restaurants. Wineries and shopping so close.
Poor experience with checkin due to property management co not on top of their game.
Didnt get access code until I called asking how to checkin two hrs before I was supposed to be at the Inn.
Couldn’t get the heat to work for 45 minutes after we arrived. No instruction on how to work the heat.
Couldn’t use fire places or fire pits outside.
The Inn at Oakdene was wonderful!! We went for a couples getaway, just to get some quiet. Boy did the Inn deliver! We stayed in the Govenors Suite. HUGE shower (this was the deciding factor), luscious shower gel, shampoo & conditioner were provided. They also provided a kurig coffee machine, some pods, creamer, sugar, bottled water and snacks as they don’t do bfast. The bed was Comfortable, ac and tv easy to figure out. They have a pool table and garden which we didn’t get to try. Overall we would absolutely recommend this location!! Side note: there is no elevator & 2 of their suites are on the 3rd floor. Keep this in mind when reserving as it was a shocker for us lol. And parking is on the street. Quiet neighborhood , no permit needed and it’s on an hill so you’re going to use your emergency break. Also… they are incredibly responsive via text message with questions and help.
While the property is lovely and the stay has been nice, I will say that the information provided before finalizing the booking was missing pertinent information.
There was no mention of the two sets of stairs at the front entrance. There was no mention of receiving a code for entry to property until after I booked a non-refundable booking. I had sent a query to the property but did not receive an answer before booking later the same day (the day of arrival).
I did book through a third party—Expedia—as I typically do since I use apps such as these to look through all properties to see what is available in areas I am not familiar with. I am aware that self-catering facilities such as Air Bnb and VRBO are represented on these sites, but this being an inn, I did not equate it with one of those. However, it is. There is no staff on the property as far as I could tell. Therefore, I left no rating for staff and services. There is no one to greet you or get you additional towels, blankets, etc. there is no breakfast, though there is an area where you can make coffee and tea and access some snacks.
While these things are not expected at a self-catering facility, there was nothing to suggest this “inn” was such.
Bottom line, our stay was very nice. The property is quite lovely. The rooms are comfortable. The home is beautifully restored and appointed (there’s even a pool table and lovely porch with swing). In my opinion, more information should be provided before booking.
