Basic accommodations with clean rooms and helpful staff. Eat at your room or pick one of the nearby restaurants. Great central location if enjoy fishing PA's rivers and streams.

In the greater State College area it is rare to find a decent place to stay that isn't going to rake you over the coals on price. So this was a great find. As a traveling musician I need to make every dollar count, and this was a nice place, and great value. I have stayed in older motels before with mixed results, but this place was different - there was a staff person in the office when i got there - no need to page or call. The room was painted nicely, the furniture was in great shape. The carpet was clean. The bathroom was clean with new fixtures. Plenty of outlets for phone, tablet etc. The television was new and cable service worked perfectly. There was a nice mini-fridge and microwave. The downside - the air conditioner was an older window unit that could use updating, but it worked fine. The thermostat was also old-school, but the heat was fine - especially for the chilly night that i stayed. Check in was at 2pm which was terrific, and check out at 11am so no need to rush. Plenty of conveniences nearby - gas, fast-food, a grocery store. The little village of Mifflintown nearby was very quaint and i found a terrific local coffee shop nearby as well. Plenty of parking. Close to the major route (US 322) - quiet. A very pleasant surprise

While the bed and bath linens were clean and the bed comfortable the room reeked of stale cigarette smoke to the point that upon returning home I had to wash everything in our bags because they had absorbed the smell. The AC also only ran on fan.

Look Folks. We stayed there one night after a Penn State football game. It's about 44 miles from State College but the only thing available. At first concerned about the bad reviews but honestly it was clean, quiet, beds were sufficiently comfortable. Bathroom clean and good enough. Overpriced due to huge game in town. Not for long term stays. Guys, not an issue. Ladies, will complain. Overall it served its purpose.

Easy, friendly, quick check in. Worn out condition was expected but had hoped for better cleanliness (bee crawling on microwave; fly in room; hair in sink drain; something spilled and dried on wall by desk; fire alarm hanging from wires out of wall). Could hear next unit's tv in middle of the night (was not super loud - just thin walls so like hearing constant, mumbled talking while trying to fall asleep). Worked in a pinch. Towels and sheets clean.

This is very much an hotel for those on a very limited budget. Things that didn't work: 1. TV cable signal didn't work. 2. The phone in the room didn't work. 3. Even though advertised, I have no wifi signal in my room. I used my vehicle wifi as a substitute, but had to sit outside to get that signal. 4. It's the first hotel I've been in, (and I've been in a lot), that did not have Kleenex available in the room. The young woman running the hotel admitted she was new to the job. She was very friendly, and was able to offer me some restaurant suggestions when I arrived.
