I had a wonderful stay at Poets Cottage, the hosts were wonderful and the building very well restored and presented... Situated in the heart of town, it is very easy/convenient to walk everywhere... The breakfasts were fantastic also!

Exceeding Expectations

Very welcoming open hosts who offer lovely facilities and great guest care. When i jokingly added "boerewors" (unique South African sausage) to the breakfast menu selection, the host drove to Burnie to source some (not easy to find) and lo and behold it appeared on my plate for breakfast! Fantastic service - above and beyond!

Heart-warmed by the incredible hosts who made our stay truly special, complete with a delicious hot cooked breakfast to start each day. We loved spending time with their friendly dogs, who enjoyed all the petting! The charming antique furniture combined with modern conveniences created the perfect blend of comfort and character. Poet's Cottage pleasures

The Poet's Cottage was an absolute delight. My wife and I had not been to Stanley for 20 years and chose the cottage based on the description and comments on accomodation.com. The cottage itself couldn't have been in a better location. Walking distance to restaurants and the Stanley Hotel and views from the front window. Everything was presented beautifully, and our hosts Dave and Geraldine were so easy to talk to and very knowledgeable with regard to the Northwest of Tasmania. Dave cooks a great breakfast while Geraldine attends to your coffees and toast. We could not have been more spoiled. Go to Stanley, enjoy the Poets Cottage and wind down for a while. fantastic place to stay.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a place. 175 yrs old and a delight to stay in, loved the house and its history. Rooms were perfect with charm and elegance. Warm, welcoming and beautiful!

Love our stay! Geraldine and David were awesome hosts; they went the extra mile to make our stay fantastic. Gave us great info on the local and nearby attractions. David was absolutely fantastic humouring my interest in his EV - added bonus to my trip. Everything was perfect except for the pillows - we found them to heavy and dense (others my like theirs this way); would have given 10/10 if the pillows were fluffy and softer. Highly recommend this beautifully renovated place to anyone.
