Stunning location. Peaceful setting. Quality accommodation with very comfortable spacious rooms. Would recommend the bar / lounge for food and drinks. Breakfast excellent also with a variety of hot and cold dishes. Excellent service throughout my stay.

Beautiful setting with the canal and lake surrounding the property. Staff were friendly, parking was easy and check-in was painless. Our room was functional, if a little dated but had a strong musty smell which wasn't very pleasant. We only stayed for one night, but slept well as it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the food overall was decent.

Lovely hotel and clean staff very helpful, the only thing I could say that it would have been nice to have the fires on as it was cold in the bar area when we were eating, the food was amazing and breakfast was lovely too

Second visit to this lovely quiet hotel in lovely surroundings. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and spacious and there is plenty of parking . Highly recommend.

It’s a quaint property in a lovely setting. The staff were very kind, helpful and caring. The room was spacious, clean, plenty of cupboard space, which is always helpful. Breakfast was very good. Dining menus both in the restaurant and bar, were varied and the food quality was very good. Overall we had a great stay.

Lovely break

Our room wash really nice, everything as expected. Unfortunately the occupants in the next room were shouting and making too much noise at 2am but the night team soon sorted that out. Food in the bar was very tasty and good value. Will definitely stay again.

We only stayed for one night to break up a journey to Liverpool so didn't see everything the hotel had to offer. Bar staff were particularly impressive - efficient and attentive even though there were a lot of customers and a wedding reception going on too. A pleasant place to stay.

Lovely rural hotel

Lovely and inviting hotel in lovely country surroundings. Had a superior room on ground level which was very clean and created a calming atmosphere. The evening meal and breakfast were superb in the stunning conservatory area. Highly recommend this hotel.

From check-in to checkout, the customer service was nothing short of exceptional. Every team member—from reception to the bar and restaurant staff—was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The breakfast team went above and beyond, making mornings a real treat. Our room was incredible, with a stunning view of canal boats drifting by—an idyllic touch that made the stay even more special. We dined at the à la carte restaurant and were absolutely blown away. The meal was, without exaggeration, one of the best any of us have ever had. The four of us were dumbfounded by the quality, presentation, and attentive service. Simply delicious and unforgettable. Breakfast was equally impressive—fresh, flavorful, and served with genuine care. The beautiful surroundings added even more charm, with scenic walks around the ponds and canals creating a perfect countryside escape. We can’t wait to return. Nice place, friendly staff, slow breakfast

Good location, clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast service however is not that speedy, allow 35/45 minutes. I ordered a cooked breakfast but left before it arrived as I couldn’t wait any longer (single person table next to me received their breakfast even ordering after me). Mcdonalds breakfast for me!
