Central and a short 8 minute walk to a couple of notable Canadas top restaurants and the main bar area. The property is well kept, beds are comfortable and space is spotless. The breakfast is thoughtfully prepared and offering changed each day, David the host helped to make it special with sharing location information and being available for questions.

The property is in a great location ~ walking distance to yummy restaurants & noteworthy sites! Accommodations were comfy, clean & well-appointed; our room was spacious & laid out nicely for travellers. Breakfast was perfect with lots of healthful options! Our host was wonderful with interesting stories, helpful suggestions & a high degree of professionalism! Our stay at the Balmoral made our first visit to St. John’s a highly memorable experience! Grateful!

I would highly recommend this property! We just got back from St John's and would highly recommend Balmoral House. Room had a wonderful view of the harbour and the room was comfortable and cozy. David is a great host. Breakfast was continental style and was a great start to each day. Easy to get to restaurants and shops in the downtown. Wonderful- we hope to stay here again.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast close to downtown St. John's. Our host provided parking passes which enabled us to park on certain streets in the area free. A variety of breakfast items were available. Close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Quiet and comfortable.

The Balmoral House is a bed and breakfast run by a great, friendly, young couple. It is located just above the hub of St. John's within walking a distance of all of the pubs and restaurants (which is great as it can be hard to find parking in the core). We were lucky to have the best room in the house and it was lovely, although old fashioned. The place is and probably the best part of our whole stay.

Cherry, housekeeper, was efficient, friendly and most helpful. She upgraded us for our 2nd and 3rd nights, once a room became available. The property has been brilliantly restored to Victorian/Edwardian splendour. Convenient for all the sightseeing we wanted to do - and for dining (if you can handle the hills! which we could.) We liked the owner, David.

On registering, we received a parking permit for our car, so we could park on the local streets. The manager was very friendly, and gave us a nice breakfast each morning. The room was a good size, and the bed was very comfortable. We left a camera battery charger in the bathroom, and the hotel staff contacted us immediately and tried to return it to us. They were very helpful and sympathetic.

This property is lovely. David, our host, is very friendly and knowledgeable. He knows how to run a great B&B. There are only four rooms, two on the second floor and two on the third. No elevator so you have to be able to navigate the stairs. Permit parking was right out front. Very steep walk to the downtown area. Homeless hung out in the park just one house away.
