Clean and pretty large room, and the price is expensive but very reasonable for summer season in St. Helena, where most places are in the $600-800 range, and this one almost half. Liked that it wasn’t “corporate”. The grounds are kept pretty nice. Also liked that it was pet friendly… easy a nice places to walk your pup around the hotel too. Peaceful spot overall and literally next to some of the world’s best restaurants and vineyards.

Extremely comfortable room with a small seating area including a coffee station, fridge and microwave for small meals and snacks. The tasteful decor was mid century modern with quality bedding and towels and a great bathroom. A continental breakfast was included with fresh fruits, croissants, cereals and yogurt. There is a wonderful pool and hot tub for relaxing. The location is perfect, right on 29 and near restaurants, shopping and of course the wineries. El Bonita is an unexpected jewel and a great value. We highly recommend it!

Originally a 1940s retreat turned classic 1950s roadside motel, you can feel the history the moment you arrive, but it’s still clean, comfortable, and beautifully updated. Peaceful, perfectly located, and full of character, this has become my go-to stay. I book it every time I’m in the area ❤️

Great location but lots of traffic noise. This motel is very basic in terms of amenities. You even have to check out the iron at front desk. More of a drive-up motel than a hotel. Rooms are basic and Standard rooms are very small. We had a Double bed and still tight quarters. Towels are thin. Nothing special, but it is a motel. Set your expectations as that.
