Unbelievable experience!! Loved everything about this castle… if you want to stay in a 750+ year old castle with unbelievable staff, stay here! Restaurant was great, food amazing… Ano (not sure if I spelled it right) and his wife (and staff) were unbelievably accommodating. Highly recommend staying here! Definitely worth the trip and money… can’t wait to come back!

The building is absolutely amazing, check in is 1600hrs sharp, there is no one available prior to that. Dinner was amazing and breakfast was decent. The grounds were in need of cleaning up (excessive weeds), but overall would go back again. A few things to note... NO AC NO ELEVATOR

Fantastic!

This is truly a hidden jewel in the Kassel mountain area. Extraordinary historic sight, with a splendid view of the valleys surrounding the Schloss Spangenberg. And you live in the middle of it! The restaurant offers a wide variety of food and wines, and our dinner was just amazing. Our room was very nice, spacious with an excellent and comfartable bed. Very professional, friendly and service minded staff and management. We will definitly return to Schloss Spangenberg the next time we pass through the Kassel area. Highly recommended!

Property for a novelty stay was excellent. The room and beds were comfy and the views stunning. Getting to the front of the hotel was tricky and not clearly described. I parked down the hill as no parks at the entrance. This made getting suitcases up there was problematic There are spiral staircases to the rooms so for elderly could be quite an effort. Breakfast by 10 had run out of a lot of things …. So a mixed stay Would stay again with knowledge but a bit disappointing from expectation

Zauberhafte Schloss Atmosphäre!

Wunderschönes Schloss, das netteste Personal überhaupt, abends noch ein privates Gin Tasting und ein gutes Frühstück zum sensationellen Preis von 7,- Euro. Das Zimmer war sehr hübsch, das Bad mit Wanne etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber super gepflegt. Und der kleine Ott Spangenberg ist ein wahres Fachwerkparadies. Wie eine Filmkulisse!

Ét besøg er simpelthen ikke nok⁉️

WAAAUW for et fabelagtigt sted! Veldrevet og velrenommeret hotel, restaurant og slot, der troner over byen Spangenberg. Personalet er hjælpsomme, venlige og imødekommende. Udsigten er imponerende. Maden er....mm mm mm.😋 Jeg kan lige så godt indrømme at jeg ikke ville hjem. Morgenbuffeten var varieret og mættende. Værelser rene og indbydende. Lækre badeværelser og toiletter. Første gang, jeg hører fuglekvidder på et toilet? Såå hyggeligt. 😊 Schloss Spangenberg fortjener mine ubetinget bedste anbefalinger... med ekstra anbefalinger på.

Flot, dyrt hotel med mindre heldig service til jul

Godt nok kom vi 25/12 men der var ikke informeret om at restaurant var lukket før efter køb af værelse. Hotel ligger lidt for sig selv da det er et slot. Alt var lukket i byen men de fik lavet en platte. Dagen efter var der ikke morgenmad som anført og som de sagde på telefon ( måske senere) og vi kunne ikke då fat på nogen til at tjekke ud førend ca 8.30 hvor vi havde været klar siden 7.30. Når man så også tager prisen i betragtning så er det ok. Ellers flot hotel med flot udsigt og atmosfære

Excellent stay in a real Castle!

This place is excellent! If you've ever wanted to feel as if you're a prince or princess from your youthful dreams come here. Clean modern rooms and a nice restaurant with modern fare. Excellent internet. Take a walk around the castle and relax!
