We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel Southampton. It is a great location, with McDonald’s and TGI Fridays so close as well as the Boots across the street. Would definitely stay here if I’m in the area again

It is a very nice hotel. It is close to the port and shopping. The one thing we did not like is the hotel was not air conditioned and it was hot. The rooms did have fans available.

Great place and great location - especially if you are going on a cruise. Walking distance to the port and also to the bus and train station. A bit hot in our room since there was no air conditioning, but the fan provided helped. This was in June, though, and we had very hot weather. Would come back in a heartbeat!

The staff and rooms are very good. The location is great for cruises and the train station. The rooms need AC. Even though it was not that hot in Southampton, it was very humid. The room just felt muggy. The fan and very small window opening was not enough to air the room out.

The hotel itself was fine and we didn’t have any major issues. However, if I had paid closer attention when booking and realized there was no AC, I definitely would not have booked it. They provided a fan in each room, but it was quite loud. Thankfully, we only stayed for one night. The biggest plus is the location—it’s super close to the cruise port.

Good base to explore New Forest. The restaurant onsite has a good menu. Be aware, the Gym and pool allow only 12 guests at a time, so you might have to wait sometimes. Parking available at the hotel for £12 per night.

Room okay for short stays. Great location close to train station, mall. Decent breakfast - great staff running it and reasonably priced when considering kids were free. Pleasant cleaning staff. About the lack of air conditioning, knew this going in. Fan provided, but advice to “crack open window” poor - two window layers, with outer being chained to barely a crack and inner swings shut by curtains. Needed the curtains as police station across street stayed lit. Other amenities okay; pool area inconsistently policed at 12 ppl cap, much to chagrin of families at peak times.
