Much better than I expected, the proprietor was helpful, friendly and made a superb proper English breakfast. Recommended and if I am ever in Southampton again would not hesitate to rebook. Seriously, excellent value.

Nice B&B type guest house with friendly staff. It’s an easy walk from the railway station (make sure to depart the station at the exit near platform 1–saves a lot of steps). The only possible issue is that the beds correspond to US double size, so expect some cozy nights. Nice home-cooked breakfast. Recommended!

Staff, service, and facilities were excellent for one night (two people) and excellent value. The homemade breakfast was also excellent. The building and facilities were all clean and well maintained although a little older. The neighborhood was clean, safe, and quiet although a fun ten to fifteen-minute walk to restaurants and places to see and a comfortable thirty-minute walk from old downtown. Hotels closer to these amenities are noisier, more expensive, and don't have the same English charm that we enjoyed here. We would gladly stay here again if/when we visit this area again, especially if going on a cruise ship since the hotel/lodge is a short distance to the cruise docks.

Great B&B near Southampton city centre, run by a friendly owner. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I liked the full English breakfast, for only £8.50! Great value for money overall, would happily return!

One night pre cruise stay

Nice, quiet place to stay. We had jet lag, so mostly just slept here. About 30 min walk to Titanic museum, which we enjoyed. Full English breakfast for about $10 pp. we would return if in the area.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Landguard Lodge. My room wasclean and comfortable and I had the option of a cooked breakfast which I decided to take. So summing up my stay, I would certainly stay there again!

Relaxing stay ahead of a cruise

Friendly, helpful host; comfortable, clean room with teas and coffees. Quiet location walking distance from town, shops, etc, and not far from cruise port. Ensuite bathroom was compact but clean, with a good shower. Just what we needed ahead of a cruise.
