Check was easy, the manager explained the Wi-Fi the password the TV after hours entry rules and we were able to put it in order for our breakfast early the next morning! This is the only hotel in downtown South Haven, so it was very convenient for walking to the pier and two restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend to anyone anticipating travel to that area in my parking is an issue you have to take advantage of one of the public lots in the vicinity, which ended up not being an issue for us.

This was a perfect location in the heart of South Haven – my husband and I enjoyed our one night here and oatmeal for breakfast. The (#10) room was cute and uncomfortable, although it is literally right behind the front desk, which feels odd. Sometimes the floorboards would squeak so it sounded like someone was coming in.

We loved this hotel! The breakfast was amazing. Having a night cap was so easy with the in lobby keg and wine made it super easy. Only complaint was no fan in the bathroom but would 10/10 stay here again!

We had a great stay. Check in was easy and the staff were all very nice. Breakfast was also really great. The hotel is also centrally located, so it’s easy to get around. The only note on the location is that you’ve gotta compete for public parking. But we went on Memorial Day weekend and were pretty much fine in locating parking. Would stay again!

We have been staying in SoHa for over 20 years and Hotel Nichols was our first place and now again a recent stay. We went back for the charm and central location. The newer owners have improved the property with new furnishings and the outdoor courtyard. They also provide an extensive made-to-order breakfast every morning. The innkeeper and staff were welcoming and service oriented. A great experience!!

It was our first time in South Haven, and we couldn’t have felt more welcome here! The staff was so friendly and helpful during check-in, and the complimentary breakfast didn’t hurt either! The boutique-style rooms are cozy, with antique charm, making it feel more like you’re staying at a relative’s than a corporate chain. All-in-all, we had a lovely stay at Historic Hotel Nichols, and will most definitely be back!

Our room was VERY small. Just enough space to walk around the bed and thats it. The radiator was right in front of our toilet. I had to sit sideways on the toilet in order to use it. Seriously!! The front desk gentleman was very friendly and helpful. The hotel served it purpose. Didn't know it came with breakfast, that was a bonus. It was very delicious too.
