Great location, clean, great staff. Cons: Bed mattress too firm. Small pool.

The staff and the rooms were amazing. The renovation is beautiful. However, we were disappointed to learn that the shops inside the hotel won’t be there anymore, and we missed the coffee shop that used to be there as well. We could still get out of the hotel and onto King Street while we were there, but were no longer able to walk through any shops to get out directly onto Meeting Street. I’m sure they have some great renovations for the space though. Still a great stay!

Check-in process was frustrating. Parking is limited. There was trash in my room left from a previous guest. They advertise a beach shuttle but make sure if you’re not getting picked up at a specific time that you call early, they don’t always answer the phone or check their voicemail. Then when the front desk employee finally picked up the phone, she said another couple had just called and she’d pick me up next, and while I was still talking she hung up on me so I ended up just walking back. My last day there, another employee tried to make me squeeze onto the shuttle with another couple, I said everyone else has made us ride separately and I don’t mind waiting, she said ok, but then when she got back she said she had to hand wash a huge stack of dishes before we left?! The beach chair they gave me was dirty and the pillow had black mold growing on it. The breakfast was ok but it starts late at 0800. Happy hour includes things like Natural Light beer. It’s a bit dingy, grimy, and rundown; my bathroom shelf was totally falling off the wall. There’s like no counter space either. There was a lot of accumulated filth around the door etc. (pics). The alarm clock just wasn’t plugged in which was weird and annoying, why even leave it there with no accessible plug? They use the super cheap, single-use motel toiletries so I’d bring your own. You can hear everything in the hallways and people just stood outside my room talking. I would not stay here again or recommend staying here.

We stayed in a lovely suite that faced two directions, one right over the park and one up King St. Although it was 4th of July weekend the staff was never hurried or inattentive. The room was huge, gorgeous, and the turn down service was a nice touch. One caveat, not against the FMH, but the City. Go with the Valet parking as its cheaper. The misleading "$24.00 a day max charge" is totally a scam. Their clock runs from midnight to midnight so if you park at say 5 pm, and get your car at 8am the next morning its $48.00. Total scam.

The location of this hotel is excellent and one of its biggest strengths. It is very centrally located, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and attractions without needing a car. However parking is very expensive. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed with a modern, stylish aesthetic. The café, restaurant, and common areas are equally stunning and create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. I especially appreciated the water, coffee, and ice stations on each floor, which were always clean, well-stocked, and a very thoughtful touch for guests. That said, there were a couple of drawbacks to our stay. None of the room windows open, which made the space feel a bit stuffy, and unfortunately our room had a noticeable moldy smell that never fully went away during our visit. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with great amenities and attention to detail. Addressing the air quality and odor issues would make the experience even better.

Electrical/wifi needs updating. There was no place To charge devices unless you brought your own charging cube no late checkout available for late flight. No assistance available to and from airport. Overall, overprice for what you get

The Nickel hotel is a pied a Terre concept… separate bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and kitchen. It is spacious, beautifully designed and comfortable. The location is great as you are on King and can get to restaurants and shopping but away from the loud night life. Will go again.
