Mishawaka - first stay at candlewood

The room itself was average, no bulb in the entry way ceiling light, but elevators and common areas reeked of smoke. Barking dog and slamming doors didnt help the experience. Canceled 2nd night stay.

I would never stay here again, a bolt fell out of top of door and hit my head, tub had dirty eye contact on it, heater only worked about 77 and 70 dollars for a dog. Live and learn

Anniversary weekend

The check in was slow, it seemed as if he didn’t know what he was doing he never told us anything about the hotel nothing about breakfast literally no info was given at check in. Then our room it seemed clean but it did look like 2 year old calked around the tub and toilet. Found a hair ball on the floor in the kitchen…?????

We booked a room with 2 queen beds and it was confirmed. When we arrived they said they had no more rooms with 2 queen beds. Not sure how that happens when we had a confirmed room. They offered us a room with one queen bed which was not going to work. they did end up giving us a room with a king bed and offered to move us 2 days later but we declined that as it would be too much work to move all our stuff then. The king bed worked ok, not what I booked but it was ok. And just for clarification we checked in at 6:30 pm.

They have more rooms that accept wheelchairs than parking spots. I was not able to park close to the entrance. Two many doors to work a wheelchair. Bed was very high making it almost impossible to get the wheelchair victim in bed. Was suppose to be a roll in shower but only had a tub making it impossible to bath.

The air In our room was broken. Left yeh hotel 3 times for the air to be fixed to find it was unrepairable. Charged $60.00 for the day we checked out even though we couldn’t stay (yes it wasn’t the entire amount but no fee should have been charged). The room also only has utensils and dishes towels for 2 people. The weight room in a joke. The picture is not where near what the hotel has to offer. Would never recommend staying here.

Great place to stay for a family of 4

The staff was absolutely awesome, except the check out guy. We’re running 20 minutes late for check out, I spoke directly with the housekeeper while we’re in the elevator that we were leaving in 15 to 20 minutes and she told me was fine, she had 3 rooms to clean on the 2nd floor. The guy from downstairs knocked on our door 11:05 AM and my wife spoke with him that we were leaving soon and after that he called to the room 2 more times in less than 15 minutes. We spent 3 night over there and the check in person was great also the hotel manager , the housekeeper was super friendly as well. Just the ##### from check out was rude. The hotel was empty since mostly the guest went to leaving their child at college and everyone was leaving on Sunday. The rudeness of the check out guy was absolutely not necessary specially since we’re not even 20 minutes late. We had a long drive back to Florida and I went to get a oil change in my car and took a little longer than usual, we’re in the hurry to leave since we had 1200 miles to drive back home. I’m giving 5 stars because the hotel and the staff was great, but in the kitchen was a lot things missed, like just 1 coffee mug, not enough silverware for 4 people ( 2 double bed room) and only 2 towels, but as soon we addressed those minor issues, the manager was quick and friendly to fix, she was awesome

I recently stayed at Candlewood Suites Mishawaka North, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. While the location was convenient, the overall condition of the room and hotel left much to be desired. To start, the bathroom was in dire need of attention. The tub drained slowly, leaving water to pool around my feet during showers, and there was mold around the shower area. The caulking was in poor condition, further contributing to the overall feeling of neglect. In the main room, the lack of USB plugs was inconvenient, especially in this day and age where charging multiple devices is a necessity. To make matters worse, the pillowcases had visible stains on them, which made me question the cleanliness of the entire room. The room also had an odd, unpleasant smell that lingered throughout my stay. The layout of the room was another issue. The HVAC unit was positioned right next to one of the beds, at the torso/head level, making it impossible to use without it blowing directly on the person trying to sleep there. Adding to the discomfort, the refrigerator in the room made loud noises all night long, disrupting sleep. The smoke detector above the bed had a very bright, blinking light that flashed continuously, making it difficult to rest. The elevator smelled of smoke, and there was no visible inspection license, which was concerning. Lastly, the emergency exit door was broken and left partially open, posing a significant security risk.
