Bike friendly hotel. Close to Snekkersten train station, which made getting to Helsinger and Kronborg Castle easy. Delicious breakfast included. We did not use the spa, but many others at this hotel did, so I imagine it is quite nice. The room was large and lovely, and the hotel was quiet despite having a lot of rooms. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel has an amazing spa and good beds, but the service is flat or nonexistent and the rooms could use an update. Especially the mold in bathroom. As other guests comment: the amount of add ons and lack of basic amenities (coffee/snacks throughout day, more varied food options, room amenities) was a turn off. Parking is badly designed and I feel awful for the older/less mobile as they navigate to/from hotel with belongings. There also seems to be a lack of staff. Finally, I tried multiple times to schedule a massage only to be directed to spa many times with no staff in spa to help. We also were kept up late by a party of loud people who ruined my spa experience with loud drunken behavior and then moved it outside after hours. No staff were available to tell them to quiet down. I think this is hot or miss, but don’t expect luxe 4stars and you’ll be fine. Would recommend for a spa getaway, but be mindful that the room might spoil the pampering the spa provides both in look and feel.

Third stay here, and the spa, rooms and breakfast were wonderful as usual. Less wonderful was the member of staff who checked us in, who was stressed and rude and neglected to tell us how to get to our rooms, was snarky when we came back to ask for directions, and only gave us one keycard which turned out not work when we finally reached our room.

On the exterior, The Comwell looked excellent, with a supposed state of the art spa facilities, high quality restaurant and a friendly smile on arrival by the staff. In reality, what I was met with was a lot of hidden costs for facilities that barely worked. I paid for access to the spa facilities, however, saunas were not functional, there was little direction in terms of what was available for me to use and what I couldn't. Staff were inattentive. I was seemingly ignored by the front of house restaurant staff as I waited to be seated, with several different members of staff walking straight past me without acknowledgement. I gave up and went to the supermarket instead. The next day I visited the restaurant again and wasn't impressed by the limited menu. There were no vegetarian options, little diversity and the food wasn't that great. When reporting spa facilities that were not working, members of staff did nothing to rectify the issue or inform me of whether it was being seen to or not. My room had an insect infestation which made it very difficult to relax and settle down. The bedsheets were not fitted to the bed very well, and I found myself tangled in the middle of the night. The bathroom was poor, with a sink that doesn't plug in, a shower that sprays all over the floor and a toilet that had a particularly bad smell throughout my week. I left the Comwell with a bad taste in my mouth. I felt disappointed and let down by what could have been a very lovely stay.
