Rooms are extremely clean on account of this hotel having renovated and opened this past summer. However, that hotel still seems to lack some of the usual amenities and processes we take for granted elsewhere. The access door to the hotel gets locked and you need a card for entry - which you don’t have yet if you arrived after 10pm!! You have to wrap loudly on the door until the front desk hears you (no calling bell - costs $25 to install!). The key card based elevator is another funny story - you need both hands - one to swipe the card on the reader while the other to simultaneously press the floor - impossible to do of you are holding a cup of coffee in one hand! The card reader is finicky and doesn’t register. The elevator lobby on our floor must have had some unfortunate accident and the rancid odor was beginning to take hold, growing by the hour. To help it dry, the AC was running full blast, making it a challenge to stand there without shivering. Plenty of charging facility in the room and very well appointed decor. Excellent bed and sheets. Low on towel counts. Coffee station wasn’t stocked at all, possibly hoping you’d walk downstairs to Starbucks (which closes by 3pm - no typo). This hotel seems to have only one purpose - for visiting parents to drop by to hug their kids - and for that, you cannot beat this hotel! We did too!
