“We found the Tap House to be a disappointing stay, full of contradictions. The checkin was easy and the staff friendly. We stayed in a two bedroom unit, which has a sitting area and kitchen. The room was nice but tired with dirty doors and some broken/missing fixtures (door return hanging off, cable trunking missing capping). The kitchen had a kettle and a Lor coffee maker but no tea or coffee, cups but no glasses, knives and forks but no cooking utensils (except for can opener, peeler and...

“Booked as we had an early flight from East Midlands airport. Owner met us soon after we arrived. Nice room, great comfy bed, very good shower. Advised there was a good restaurant just down the road (15 min walk) which we visited and had a very tasty meal. Left in the morning too early for breakfast, but not host’s fault. Very good nights sleep. Plenty of parking. Road to airport a bit narrow and windy, but we made it in plenty of time. Would recommend.”

“Lovely hotel and Lovely staff great food the breakfast was delicious, great value the only criticism would be the lack of fresh air in the hotel perhaps opening a couple of doors or windows would help but that might just be me . Had a lovely sleep and enjoyable stay .”

“Room and all areas of hotel were very clean, bed very comfortable and beautiful location by the river in a quiet area. Room had everything you’d need. The hotel and room in particular does need a little TLC. Furniture old and worn, carpet in room needed replacing and walls could do with a new lick of paint. Grounds have seen better days but have a lot of potential.”

“I would have loved to have given a 10/10 but unfortunately whilst the property is great value for a stop over and breakfast was good, there is a drainage issue, and the bathrooms in the 2 rooms we booked smelt strongly of blocked drains as did the car parking area so clearly a problem that needs to be resolved. Apart from that everything was good.”
