Super simple check in procedure, excellent and a really well presented room, great location given why we were in the area. The facility of rooms with a shared kitchen would work really well, although we didn’t need to use the shared kitchen.
As we arrived late we had to do the auto check in via the lodge keypad, they keypad didn’t quite work for us as expected but the staff on site soon came to our rescue. The property is lovely and is finished to a premium standard, unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat in the restaurant but the menu looked good, we would definitely stay here again if we were in the vicinity.
I have stayed at the crown inn many times before in the past, but not for a few months. The rooms a nice and comfortable, well decorated and having the ability to cook your own meal is great.
However, things are not quite up to the standards they were previously. The bedroom carpet is now stained, no coat hangers in the wardrobe and no handwash in the bathroom.
However, the location is quiet, there is a large carpark and the self checkin is easy.
Lovely place really and very hood value. Was delighted to find it. Room very nice, and enjoyed the kittle kitchen for making tea in the morning.
Pub nice too (food is pricey so take note). Location is great.
A beautiful room and great facilities with the kitchen just next door. Easy to access as well so no need to stress or worry about if you arrive late to checking in. Would highly recommend!
What a find ! Beautiful room with beautiful high end details . We will definitely stay again when back visiting family. A really great stay, a home away from home .
We had a lovely stay. Good quality quiet accommodation.
Bed a little springy as I pref and firmer bed and nice and clean. Hubby likes a softer pillow. Great idea with a little kitchenette shared with 1 other room to make tea/coffee and a little bit of breakfast in the morning as hotel dosent currently offer this.
Would stay again if in the area.
Oh there is a keypad entry, which the lovely lady behind the bar showed us to use.
It was our first time visiting the crown but we will definitely be back!
The pub and restaurant are lovely, cosy and a great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and very happy to help - happy to engage and have a chat with their guests as well!
The room was phenomenal, absolutely stunning décor and thought in every detail, my only gripe was that I found the bed a little too firm for me.
On going downstairs for dinner the food was amazing! And service was quick, friendly and observent with the ladies noticing if the water needing topping up and just doing it when ever they passed.
We can't wait to come back
If you advertise on a third party booking site tou need to advertise what days your facilities are open.
Arriving yesterday to find the building in darkness and another car pulling up to deliver take away to one of your chefs that happened to be standing outside. It would also be a good idea to confirm with your customers that they have actually received an e mail or text advising them of the code for the door (its really easy to work out the code fir the following day BTW) as you didnt answer the phone or reply to my message.
I dont want to use your kitchenette when staying away, after travelling all day the last thing i want to do is cook and its a good job i was alone as there was nowhere for two people to sit and eat. No wifi code or welcome pack in the room, never mind i will watch tv, except i couldn't because the remote wouldn't work!
Not only did i go and give money to your competitors when it came to my evening substance i had to do the same for breakfast, with that wonderfully kitted out kitchen you have in the pub, you coyld gave made some pastries and left them in the kitchenette for the rooms.
The room was lovely, but wholly let down by the basics which should be prioritised over leaving a copy of your book in the room.
I didn’t eat, but the menu looked good. The bar and restaurant area were very well presented. Parking was ample. Room was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient.
A really nice, quiet place to bivouac for a night or two.
It is much nicer than any of us deserve.
But if you book it, that may mean i cannot use it when i need to stay overnight for work; and i’m selfish…

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Staff & service
Due to late arrival I had to self check in, the key wasn’t in the key safe and I was potentially looking at having to find another hotel at 11pm. Someone heard me and found a spare key but not ideal as a woman on her own with no dead lock on the inside. The ‘fresh’ milk had curdled, the temp on shower jammed on boiling hot and the sink tap went in wrong direction for hot/cold!

Miss-selling room
Absolutely rubbish. Listed on hotels.com as an Inn offering a restaurant & bar, 'bearing in mind this is in the middle of nowhere', they only informed me on the day that the restaurant & bar are closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, total joke.
The nearest eatery is over a mile away.
No apology, no offer of compensation for miss-selling the room, nothing. Arrogant & obviously ignorant of UK trading standards law. They will find out very soon.
