Slope Point is the southernmost point of the South Island, a 20 minute walk through a sheep pasture to a little lighthouse and a sign marking the location on beautiful rugged clifftops in the Catlins. The walk is closed from Sept-Nov. during lambine.
New Zealand southern most point and the closest I've been to south pole :)
