We had a lovely stay at the Old Fort Lodge! The hosts were friendly and welcoming and our room was very comfortable. The highlight was the lovely cooked breakfast in the morning to get us started on our day!

Expedia description seemed to indicate it was a hotel near the beach and a golf course but it is actually just a house in a cull-de-sac with not indication that it is a even a B&B. A bed for the night with no frills and a nice breakfast for an additional €10. Easy access to the town centre (20 minute walk).

Old style B&B in a comfortable house.

Comfortable stay in a typical old style B&B, with a shared bathroom in someone's home. The hosts are really friendly and helpful (and make a great breakfast), the room was fine, although mattress/pillows were on the thin side and you could hear noise from outside of the room, and tv reception could be intermittent at times! Wifi though was excellent, and never had any issues with waiting for the bathroom. It's a short drive into Sligo or Strandhill.

good enough for a quick stay overnight

know that this is a B&B at someone's house in a very nice neighborhood. Be on the lookout for kids on their bikes and running around the street, so you do not run them over. Also all the houses look the same so do not go to the wrong one in the dark, like I did. The owner is a lovely, retired gentleman, the house is very clean. You have to share the bathroom with the other rooms/guests. The pillows are little flat and the bed is kind of stiff

The breakfast was very well done. The pillows could be better. The place was very clean. I think small mirror in the bedrooms would be good as the bathroom is shared. Also i think little tables in the bathrooms would be nice so you would have more place to put your toiletries. Parking was great and convenient. Thanks Peter for your hopitality

The property was clean and tidy. Beds were a bit soft. No sheet, which is not unusual for Europe. If you don't mind sharing the bathroom with two other groups it is a very reasonably priced option.

Fairly convenient. But felt like I was staying at someone's home rather than a guest house if that makes sense - No signage out front or anything to identify it as a guest house. Mary was feiendly, front of house very clean. Bathroom looked amazing, but shower ran between scorching hot and freezing cold, very difficult to shower in. Please buy new towels...the ones in the room once wet smelt terrible. I couldn't use them and had to put them in the closet overnight because the smell was overbearing, a classic sign of bacteria build up. Other than that, itcwas perfectly OK

The property is very clean although there was a lighter and loose tobacco in the top drawer of the chest of drawers in our room. We were in room 3 which was adjacent to the shared bathroom. We could hear everyone using the bathroom and were awake most of the night. The mattress wasn't comfortable due to the spring pockets pressing against our bodies. The host was friendly.

Old Fort B&B is a fine option for a visitor who doesn't mind staying outside the town centre. The walk from the train station is pleasant, and the neighborhood is charming. Clean, comfortable accommodations, with a full Irish breakfast.
