Vacations Close To Christiansted National Historic Site

Their pool apparently has been shut down for a couple years. There’s old faded, yellow caution, tape around most of the property. The rooms were dirty, including mold in the bathroom, ants on the furniture and a filthy floor that made your feet black. The bed was crunchy and creaky. There’s no restaurant just outdoor bar food. Everything was in disrepair and filthy. We stayed one night and left first thing in the morning. We had been booked through a package with Expedia for five nights. Extremely disappointed and angry.

The resort is nice, however they could use more on-site activities. The food in the restaurant was okay but the food at the pool bar was phenomenal along with the staff. You will need a vehicle if you plan on leaving the resort and be comfortable driving on the left side of the road. I stayed at The Waves on a solo trip, and it was honestly the perfect place for me! From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, comfortable, and completely at ease as a woman traveling alone. The property was extremely clean, the view was unbelievable, and the staff was amazing. Tom and Charlette were fantastic, and the restaurant servers were wonderful as well. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy later. Housekeeping was also great and always on time. The only time they didn’t come was when I accidentally put the “Do Not Disturb” magnet on the other side of the door. My only small note is that they didn’t restock the bottled water during housekeeping, but I simply brought my own water back to the room, so it wasn’t a big deal. The room had a mini fridge and dishes, which came in handy for storing and enjoying my leftovers. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine and snacks waiting in the room. The wine was a complimetary Malbec, which isn’t my personal preference, but if you love Malbec, you’ll definitely enjoy it! Overall, I truly have zero complaints. I had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend The Waves. I would definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at Grapetree Bay. The rooms are as pictured clean, renovated and large. AC was nice and cold. The staff was very friendly and professional. Enjoyed all our delicious meals on the balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. I would recommend this property to everyone and cannot wait to return.

The Terrace restaurant was exceptional. The beach was awesome.
