The hotel is in a good area and we felt save. Unfortunately the images online are misleading. The rooms are very small and not very clean. The Aircon is central, so you can not manage it yourself and the facilities are quite old/not in good shape. The staff is very friendly.

a spartan way to stay in Singapore

Clean rooms. Was offered a room without windows. Insisted on a room with windows. When came to the room discovered that windows are glued so you cannot open them and nothing can be seen outside those windows. No shower curtain in the washroom. Service was polite

Staff were awesome and professional you can see in the rooms were they are upgrading to better amenities. I just wish in the room i stayed in, it had enough room to sit on toilet straight on was fine for wife she only 4"2 but me at 6" my knees hit wall and my bum was on top of tank. But thats just tall person problems. But the staff were amazing so helpful recomending places to go and see best place for cheap nice food booze etc... highly recommend if your wanting to save $$ on accommodation to be able to spemd elsewhere like the night zoo

Good for a budget hotel

We only stayed 1 night, but for a budget hotel it was all in our expectations. The bed was ok, room was clean, but don’t expect to use the room as a place to relax. The location is pretty good and in walking distance to the MRT.

Our flight was cancelled so we had to stay one more night at Singapore We liked for something not very expensive We came to hotel 81 heritage The staff was nice? The room was clean (without windows though) the real thing about this hotel is the location!! In the middle of all nice places around Arab street! It was amazing

Basic and Budget

The bed was actually quite comfortable and the location was quite good, only 10 minutes from Nicoll Highway MRT station. The A/C was quite good despite having no control over it. The rest of the room was quite rough around the edges and there was no window. This is budget option in Singapore which suited our needs but there wasn’t much too it.

While I appreciate that the 81 chain is cheaper compared to other hotels in Singapore, I was quite disappointed that I received a room that was not at all like what I reserved online. The room I reserved had a window; my room, zero windows.. Please give what the customer paid for.. aka DON'T LIE!

It is what it is a budget hotel, dur to Singapore increasing rates across all acccomadation these hotels and all hotels now are working back the losses from Covid. No fridge, hard bed, but clean. Some noise from Special nightly visitors. but close to some amenities. No fridge makes it hard for short time business travel.

The staff was very nice. However, there was never hot water in the showers it would turn cold after 30 seconds. The TV didn’t have the right plug in into the wall. Mold on walls and doors. & no AC or windows the rooms are very hot we had to buy a fan for it.

There was a los of noise during the night or early morning. I paid for a room with e window and the window was sealed and had a thick glass that did not open and you could not see through. Therefore, it did not count as a window.
