The room was clean and large with a wonderful balcony.
Staff are excellent. The location is very good.
The pool and rooftop area are superb.
The bathroom could use updating.
A lovely and quiet hotel in a central location. Staff helpful and rooms very clean.
The only downside for us was that breakfast was served until 8:30am, which we felt was too early to close.

Excellent location
Great centrally located hotel, at the time we were staying it was very quiet. At one stage we were the only guests.
Front desk staff are super friendly and helpful.
The rooms are a bit older in condition, the bed we felt was on the harder side.
Rooftop pool is refreshing and provides a good view of the city.

This is a nice, medium-sized older hotel. Siem Reap tourism has not recovered from Covid and some of the larger luxury hotels, including Raffels, are closed and just trying to maintain their property until demand from large tour groups returns. City River Hotel is operating with a reduced staff and and reduced amenities - the rooftop swimming pool is open, the adjacent bar is not. Breakfast buffet is adequate with a few Khmer options each day. I was content with my stay and understand the difficulty of just maintaining basic services during this time.
This hotel is ideally located in a quiet area with many small restaurants and coffee shops (not all of which take credit cards - ask if that's important to you) within a 2-4 block walk. It's about a 10-15 minute walk or less than 5 minute tuk-tuk ride (cost $1) to the entertainment district. There are many hotel options closer to action but it can be quite noisy outside until 4-5 am.
A friend of mine who's living there on a budget picked it for me, I thought it was a reasonable value for the money.
I would probably go a little more upscale next time
Stayed here before. Don’t know why it is not busier. Breakfast is so average it is better going out. But please sort out the wifi. WiFi is so important
Bad stinkt
Tv geht night
Poolbar geschlossen
Kommunikation schwierig obwohl mein Freund Khmer Spricht.
Nicht zu empfehlen
Central location in the city close to a night market and restaurants and shops. Staff is very courteous and helpful. The room is very clean with the only exception of a stained shower curtain. The rooftop pool is a tonic after a hot day of temple visiting. The included breakfast buffet has plenty of delicious fresh fruits including the best dragon fruit I have ever had. All in all, a value packed hotel.
My husband and I had such a nice stay at City River. The location is perfect, the breakfast good (especially the dragon fruit), and the staff were gracious and welcoming. Although the hotel is a little old, it had the charm of an old colonial hotel, with lots of wood panels and ceiling fans.
City River Hotel was amazing. From the time we checked-in to the day we departed, we were given 5 star treatment. The hotel is located near other hotels, coffee shops (Brown Coffee across the street) and small businesses. My room was a large king room with good sized bathroom. I loved sitting out on the balcony early mornings sipping my coffee and watching the locals walking, working, etc. The hotel offered a free breakfast each morning and it had both American and Cambodian dishes. The hotel also has a spa and the ladies are magnificent (costs $9 & $16 USD). We tipped everyone that provided us service, but there is a tip box for all employees to the right of the front desk, which we gladly left a very nice tip during our check out. Be sure to ask the front desk to call Mr. Tall if you need a tuk tuk driver. We used his services everyday for $15/day. Mr. Tall speaks English and is a very delightful and kind gentleman. Every single restaurant recommendation he made was excellent. I enjoyed my trip to Cambodia and will definitely return and stay at City River Hotel.
Nicely situated just across the river from the busy centre. The real star is the roof top pool and bar where you can cool down and prepare for a night on pub steeet. Breakfast is great. Omelettes are freshly made but the noodle soup well worth trying too!

My flight was delayed, so I didn’t get there till almost 10pm. No one was at the front desk. I waited for almost 20 minutes. No one showed up. Then I walked around to see if anyone was around. I found 2 guys from Thailand, and they went to look for an employee. And he was sleep in some room, came out to check me in, then he got me on the phone with the boss. He apologized, and all was well. The next couple of days were okay, just that they didn’t clean my room after the first night. And when I checked out, the other employees saw me, but basically ignored me, and I was alerting them that I was checking out. They paid me no mind, so I dropped the key on the desk, and I bounced. The boss was the only person that could speak English. The other employees didn’t know a lick of English.
The friendliest staff at any hotel I have stayed out. Everyone from the lowest grade to the highest spoke to us in English. Tbe price of this hotel is excellent value. Breakfast plenty of choice also the evening menu had something for everyone . The pool atea lovely with a variety of seating. The depth is good not too deep. Everywhere was spotless. Towels provided fresh
The staff never kept the customers up to date with what was happening. There was no air conditioning for the night I was there and we were advised there would be a pool to use. There wasn’t , we had to use the neighbours pool. DO NOT STAY THERE
Super friendly helpful staff. Spacious and clean rooms. Very pleased with our stay.

I booked for the pool but it was unusable unfortunately. Overall the property offers very good value for money. The breakfast was standard fare and had a few changes every day. We ate evening meal a couple of times and it was good and fairly priced too. Location is quiet enough yet convenient to everything. We used grasshopper bicycle tours a couple of times and they are only 3 minutes walk from hotel.
