Unfortunately this stay didn’t meet expectations at all for a 5* rating, it felt closer to 3*. The property is quite old and not well maintained, and it was noticeable throughout the resort, with cleaning equipment and supplies often left out in plain view around common areas.
In our room, a technician came to fix the AC on arrival, but it ended up leaking water onto the floor. Two nights later, the AC stopped working entirely. When we reported it, we were initially told nothing could be done that late. Thanks to a lovely lady from customer service, we were eventually moved to another room to avoid sleeping through 30+ degree heat with a young child. That room was “better” in the sense that the AC worked, but it was also quite old — the door couldn’t close properly, meaning people could potentially walk in from outside, which wasn’t reassuring.
On arrival, the porter who helped with our luggage was quite insistent about receiving a tip, which felt a bit uncomfortable.
The food was probably our biggest disappointment. It didn’t feel fresh, the variety was limited, and the cleanliness of the restaurant left us with some doubts. We both had stomach issues after just two nights.
On the plus side, the pool area, kids’ slides, and overall outdoor atmosphere were lovely and genuinely family-friendly. But it wasn’t enough to offset the issues with the room and food for a stay at this price point.
