Prince Rupert - rustic, central, fab bathroom, twin room, lovely staff, good breakfast . Second floor room slightly suffered from VERY creaky floorboards above - nothing which could be avoided as it is such an old hotel. Staff very helpful in instructing us how to drive to the property to pick up luggage at the end of the stay .

The Prince Rupert is centrally located on Butchers Row - lovely shops and pubs close by as well as the Cop and the English Bridge and the Dingle. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially front desk staff and our wonderful server at breakfast. She didn’t miss a beat and we enjoyed her. We requested an upgrade and our Queen Charlotte room was beautiful. Strongly suggest mini fridges in the rooms.

From reception staff to breakfast staff there were excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect for seeing all the sights. Breakfast was excellent. Apart from that the room were basic. Nothing special. Hotel has been given 4 stars. I think it should be 3 stars. Also when booking this hotel. They should give details where the carpark is.

My wife and I stayed at the Prince Rupert Hotel for one night and we were delighted by its location (right in the centre of town), its cleanliness and the charming staff. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast there. We did find that our room and some of the hotel decoration was 'tired' and could do with a touch up - but that is a small quibble about a historic hotel and should not detract from our very enjoyable stay. Parking was relatively easy - we checked in at hotel reception and they directed us to their open-air car-park a few streets away (£10 per night). A word of warning!!!! The hotel is in the middle of a number of one-way streets and can be difficult to find by car. The hotel MUST be approached via Fish Street off Wyle Cop. Do NOT approach it via Church Street off St Mary's Street as Church Street is one-way - the wrong way. If you do happen to drive up Church Street the wrong way, then you must hope to meet a charming Civil Enforcement Officer who will, quite rightly, admonish you but, seeing your genuine contriteness and stress, may take pity on you and not give you a Penalty Charge Notice!
