The staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn’t do enough for you. The bar area is great, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. Location is right at the top of the steep hill at California St but the cable car stop is also there. The only reason I haven’t given it a 5* is the breakfast could be improved. You have to hand in a breakfast buffet voucher (pay extra for à la carte) and you are handed a plate (v old and scratched). Options are limited and no table service. You have to make your own tea in a paper cup. That doesn’t make it a luxury hotel in my view.

It was steps away from the beach and from my patio I could enjoy watching people on the boardwalk as well as the ocean. It was clean and they were always making sure everything was up to top standards.

We had an amazing stay. Perfect location. Rooms were great, staff was friendly. Loved the little store, Perfect for grabbing a snack or coffee.
