Very Good

The lady who checked me in was excellent, very courteous and helpful. Amenities were very good, and room was clean. Bed was comfortable, my pillow was too soft, but that is a personal observation and choice.
Overall an excellent choice!!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I was running late so phoned ahead and they extended check-in time and staff were really helpful and friendly on arrival.
Our room was fine for a 1 night stay but I would not like longer because we had to share a bathroom and as there was not a sink in there he room it made life difficult. People with any mobility problems would find the very narrow windy stairs a big problem . We had a meal which was very well presented and the staff were very friendly and competent.
This is a true local spot — expect pints being poured right at reception! Jamie, who runs the place, is a gem.
Room was small with a charming view, though right on a busy road. Shared bathroom was clean but not the most convenient setup.
Bonus points for the backyard garden and a great selection of proper beers.
I was pleasantly suprise by the size and comfort of the rooms for the price, which although quite basic, were adequate for a short stay and great value. The staff were very welcoming and helped with our cases. It was a great location for walking to the shuttle bus.
The downsides were the shared bathroom, steep stairs and no parking on site.
Staff very nice and helpful but toom was had stale/stuffy smell. Right on road and so quite noisy. Room decoration and furniture need updating. Difficult to see how this is a four-star, upscale B&B.
Overall, room was very spacious, clean and came with an ensuite bathroom. The double bed was comfortable. However, the condition of the room was below standard. For example, the bathroom door had no door handle, the tv didn't work, the main bedroom light wasn't working, and no milk provided for tea/coffee. If these improvements were in placed would give it a 4-star rating.

Lovely pub with great owners and good homemade Italian food,
only downside was the actual room unfortunately ,shower in need of refurbishment including shower door not fixed properly to shower.
the kettle has obviously not been used in months as it had mould inside, tried cleaning it and boiled it a few times but decided not to make tea in the end as I was put off.
I’m sure the owners would have replaced the kettle if I raised the issue but as we were tired decided not to make a fuss.
Lovely pub but unfortunately the room needs a some TLC , would happily stay again in future if improvements are carry out to rooms .
Very friendly host/owner. Managed to get there on the first day before their restaurant service finished and had an excellent spicy pizza. Shame I didn't have time to try other menu items. The room itself was a good size, lots of storage space and a kettle with some coffee/tea on hand. The bed was fine, although a little firm for my taste but otherwise comfortable. There was also a very small, almost cute freeview TV. Lets face it, you're not there to watch TV, but it's good enough and works. My only issue was the sash windows aren't double glazed and being roadside meant there was quite loud traffic noise, particularly with trucks. But it's an old building. So it's a minor thing personally.
The shared bathroom/toilet is a good size and the shower was very good. Lots of complimentary shower gels on hand.
Overall I nice place to lay your head. As I'm working in Bristol for a couple of months I'm pretty sure I'll use again. Price wise it was reasonable. On par with other places I'd looked at within a commutable distance of Bristol as Bristol itself is very expensive especially if you don't get free or included car parking.
