This place needs a makeover .. very shoddy and poorly maintained furniture. Absolutely boiling hot rooms, staff were lovely and helpful but the rooms are very poor.

Smells funny when you walk in, reception area very dated. rooms are dark and dingy, again very dated furniture and bathroom suite. No cold water for the bath/shower taps only warm and hot which was annoying after being out in the hot weather a cold shower was needed! Quiet location, staff were friendly and the bed was clean. Wouldn't return but could of been worse

The room we had on the 9th floor was so hot, we had a terrible sleep. They did provide us a fan but it was useless blowing around hot air. Would not stay here again I the summer. Would be fine in the winter. Rooms were okay, plenty of space and decent enough. Bit would not recommend in hot weather .

Staff were friendly and helpful however upon walking into the hotel we were met with the most awful urine like smell. Possibly a damp carpet that has dried whiffy but it really didn’t give off a good impression and we’d wondered what mistake we’d made by booking there. Our room wasn’t ready for checking in so we went up to the first floor to the bar for a drink but the bar wasn’t open so we used the toilet instead before heading out somewhere else. Unfortunately these toilets weren’t much better than the reception area - one was out of order, the other had actual poo splattered on the back of it. Again, it didn’t give us much hope for the rooms being liveable. When we checked into our rooms later however, it was surprisingly clean and spacious. Just extremely hot! We were on the 9th floor so the window didn’t open very far to get some much needed breeze but thankfully there was a fan in the room which was an absolute lifesaver for a peri-menopausal hot bod like myself. Still could’ve done with some fresh air though, as even my 13yr old son who is used to wallowing in his own room with a closed window was too warm. The bed and pillows were clean and comfy though so we did sleep well. Check out was 11am which was welcomed too - later than the usual 10am check outs so the extra hour was nice.

Spacious clean room with mini fridge, noise from door banging in the corridor through the night, one set of towels between 2 of us, we were promised an extra set but never arrived, fan in bathroom didn’t work, there was a fan in the room but was still too warm, one lift was out of order, the photos on the website must be AI generated as the hotel is nothing like them, no sockets near the bed, car park only has 10 spaces but there are public car parks nearby, not the nicest part of Sheffield

Booked for one night as was cheap and cheerful and what we got was a level even below that. The shelf the towels were kept on was covered in dust, the shower didn't even reach luke warm and one of the mugs had a trickle of tea stain running from top to bottom. Room was very warm with no air con, a fan was available which helped but then you have the problem of being consistently woken up by the whirring of the fan. Plus sides was the room was very spacious, bed and pillows were comfy, ideal walking distance from town centre and Kelham Island.

Rooms were quite big, the beds were comfy pillows were a bit uncomfortable. Quite disappointed that they only had one working elevator the first day then the second day both elevators were out of service, it’s not too bad if your room is on the first few floors but ours were on floor 9 so carrying your stuff up and down those stairs were horrible. Our second room had a blocked sink so my mates staying in that room had to use my room for washing their hands etc. Monday morning early hours today the fire alarm went off at 6am waking around one up that was very irritating and loud then it went off for a second time around 7:20am. Overall it’s not a bad hotel just a lot of improvements can be made.
