Very small room but quite cozy. The door is heavy so when the next room is Chinese who pay no attention to anyone else, the door slamming was so loud that I couldn’t go to sleep every night until 12 when he finally stopped going and coming back constantly with loud door slamming every 5 minutes. I called the receptionist twice and asked them to speak to the person. They either didn’t or did but didn’t work, the door slamming didn’t stop until 12. I am happy that I finally got to leave. This situation is more about the people staying there than the hotel.

Perfectly adequate stay. We were only there for a brief overnight stay for a graduation. Booked 3 rooms. Twin room excellent, huge beds and bathroom, other double rooms a lower spec. Beds super comfy, very dark and well air conditioned rooms. Friendly and efficient reception staff. Parking included. Fast check in and checkout. Didn’t use bar or restaurant so can’t comment. Taxi ride into Uni and centre of town.

Buffet breakfast was good with the standard variety of English breakfast Bed was comfortable and staff helpful The overall cleanliness was excellent and the building decor was good but as being an old building maintenance is an ongoing struggle to everything up to date all the time Overall a very nice and quiet hotel

Not bad place. Main issue is took me 20 minutes to find the place as there’s so many roadworks around couldn’t seem to get in the right lane as certain roads were coned off or blocked off completely. Place a bit rundown but room service and staff very friendly.

Excellent two night stay. So lovely to find a hotel that’s very close and so easily walkable quickly into the City Centre but that also has plenty of parking next to the hotel! Excellent breakfast at very reasonable extra price and equally superb dinner. Will stay again if ever we’re in Sheffield.

Great old grand hotel. Stayed in a suite on this occasion - I use the hotel if visiting for the world snooker - and tbh it wasn’t worth paying the extra. Just stick with the premium rooms imo

The room did not have the ability to access Netflix or other streaming services. When I contacted reception, I was informed that the hotel had not yet set up the Chromecast functionality, so streaming was unavailable. The air conditioning was also very noisy, with the motor producing a constant whining sound, which was disruptive and had to be turned off especially during sleep. The mattress also did not appear to be a queen size, despite the room being booked with a queen bed. It was noticeably too short, and my husband's legs were hanging off the end of the bed, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Shower pressure extremely low.

Clean hotel, tidy, well presented with efficient reception staff. Suffers from being an old building; creaky and uneven floors, lots of transmitted noise from both inside and outside of building. Inconsistent water pressure and widely fluctuating temperature.

We always stay in this hotel when visiting the area. We have tried others, but always regret not coming to this one. The rooms are lovely, clean and well maintained, the staff are warm and friendly, the food is delicious, and there is parking on site. It is always a pleasure to stay here.

Stayed here for a 1 night stay. What a lovely, well kept historic building. Checkin was quick, easy and very helpful staff. Parking was £6 for 24hrs, which we think is great value considering recent price increases. The room was for a family of four, and fully equipped. Nothing missing, clean and air con was needed and was working a treat. We had the breakfast, and there wasn't a thing NOT on the menu. We will definitely stay here again for when we next visit Sheffield. Close to the City, and easy tram ride if you want to leave the car and go shopping at Meadowhall.
