Vacations Close To Shawnigan Lake Museum

This hotel had great reviews but was disappointed when I arrived . An old hotel with new clean white sheets and towels isn’t enough to make me come back.

A Staff was nice and friendly. My complain is there was only 1 paper cup in the room, and only decaf coffee there. I would be ok if there was no coffee...

This hotel has good rating. I definitely agree. The room is clean and spacious. Ours comes with a microwave, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, and a small stove. Staff is friendly. The building is kept very clean and tidy. I would stay again. I would have rated it 5 stars except the parking is terrible. One star taken off. There is a restaurant next to the lobby that has half price burgers after 9pm. That means that their customers took up a lot of the parking spots. I had a really difficult time finding a parking spot when we came back late from visiting Victoria. All the parking spots were taken, including the ones uphill on the back of the building. By the way, the restaurant's food was pretty good. I can see why they were packed.

The last night in my room I found two beetle larva worms on the floor next to my bed where I had often walked. In the low light they were almost impossible to see. They were very squishy. Yuck!!! I wonder how many I had stepped on while wandering around in my socks over the previous evenings. The place looked clean, but beetle larva on top of a spider on my towel sure made it hard to relax. I am now treating my slippers and socks to get rid of possible eggs. The wall-mounted table was the only place to use as a desk, and there was no light anywhere near it. It was too dark to read there at night, so I didn't get much desk work done. I had wifi. Just no data availability. Anytime I got online I had to use my phone. I used to think that Motel 6 was clean and basic. It looked clean, but it really wasn't. It was also a little too basic when I couldn't even sit and read in the evening.

I paid 360$ for one night for this hotel and trust me this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There was this weird smell in the Lobby and no air conditioner in the room. For almost 400$ it was the worst experience.
