We were coming over by private boat but got weathered out. The owner called me and worked things out more than fairly. Will stay there my next trip over for sure.
Even though our room was clean, and adequate, there was a dresser that could be replaced with a place to hang clothes or even better a small refrig with freezer for ice and possible a micro. Mary was very helpful and easy to talk to.
The Sea Parrot Inn is super convenient to the ferry dock & the main street. The room was updated, clean and charming Alaskan.
Perry, the Inn's owner, was kind, engaging and it's clear she really cares about the Inn and her guests' stay.
We had a nice stay over the summer solstice. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom nice and modern. Beautiful town and the hostess was charming.
The property was centrally located in the town. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I also liked that my room had it's own entrance to the outside without having to go through the house.
Super nice place to stay. Just opposite the boat harbor with a comfortable second floor balcony withy great views. The whole place is decorated beautifully. All the furnishings are wonderful. There's a large and comfortable common sitting area on the second floor. Even the lamps look like fishing rods and reels. Our bedroom was decorated just as nicely and was also very comfortable and clean. Mary, who is a very thoughtful and informative host, has thought of everything. Night tables with lamps on either side of the bed, ceiling fan, plenty of space, shades for the windows, clean private bathroom. It was perfectly quiet for sleeping. Mary not only let us store our suitcase after checkout while we walked around town, but graciously allowed us to use the sitting area and balcony to relax when we were done walking and we were waiting for the ferry back to Homer. The included breakfast includes several choices in the first floor café which Mary also runs. I wish every place we stayed was as nice as this.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights in July and loved the Inn and its location across from the harbor. We stayed in the Red Herring room, which is spacious, cozy, and very clean. Being upstairs, it has a great view of the harbor and bay. There is a common living area and kitchen for guests to use. The rate is a bargain for the area and also includes a wonderful breakfast in the cafe downstairs. Mary is a gracious and friendly host. Seldovia is a laid back, peaceful little town - a great place to relax. We loved the hike to Outside beach and exploring the tide pools there. We highly recommend Seldovia and the Sea Parrot Inn.

Mary and her crew are a cut above. The rooms are so cozy, inviting, and beautifully decorated with Alaskan art. Perry's Cafe is much more than an ice cream shop, we found we enjoyed the food there better than any other place in Seldovia. I recommend the Roast Beast sandwich, it's very tasty. The breakfast burrito and the parfait are great ways to begin a day. The staff is friendly and helpful. We came for Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed it so much we came back for Labor Day. Seldovia is an unexplored and unexploited diamond in the rough. There is so much country there to explore. If you are looking for a fresh place to go outside and play Seldovia is it. If you want a quiet place to spend the weekend to get away from it all, Seldovia is that as well. Thank you Mary and staff for being so hospitable and creating such a welcome oasis. I would expect to spend double for the amenities offered by the Sea Parrot Inn. We will make it a point to come again.
Great location right at the pier. Rooms were nicely decorated and newly renovated. The common areas were under renovation while we were there so they should be done soon. The host was great and very friendly.
The rooms were newly refurbished and in excellent condition. The kitchen and lounge upstairs had not been finished. When it is, the whole Inn will be outstanding. Its a wonderful place to spend a few days. A number of selections were available for breakfast and they were all very good. The rooms do not contain a refrigerator, a microwave nor a television. However, all can be found upstairs in the kitchen/lounge. Mary is a wonderful host and sees to all ones needs.
Great experience. Our goal on vacation was to get away and that is what we got. There is no tv, limited cell services (depending on your carrier) and there wasn't a housekeeping. But it was great! The owner is very pleasant and made us feel comfortable. As I stated no housekeeping but she may sure we had fresh towels and she was around enough if we had questions. We had body soap and an unmarked bottle (shampoo?) so bring your stuff for bathing. It was very rustic. 4 rooms total (upstairs full bed and downstairs two twin beds). Owner is finishing communal kitchen and there is a big gathering room with comfortable furniture. I'd go back.
Very comfortable and quiet place in the center of Seldovia. Such a great nights sleep! Beautiful bathrooms! Very welcoming host. Delicious breakfasts provided in the cafe downstairs. Also very accommodating to food sensitivities.
The room was clean, recently remodeled, beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom had heated floors which was great. The breakfast was beyond a regular hotel breakfast and included espresso drinks.
Because Expedia of the options it gave us, we thought the inn was in Homer. It wasn't! We had to ferry across the bay. We have a big problem with expedia putting all the "available places, within hundred miles on one page.
The next time we looked for a place to stay in Skagway, it gave us options in Juneau...7 hours away by ferry, in Juneau!!!!!,
