“Outstanding.”

“Rooms were nice and clean but we had an annoying noise coming from an air vent inside a wardrobe that drove us wild, made them aware and they attempted a bodge to cover it up but it still persisted and spoiled our sleep. The only other complaint is when we were dining a family with young children had been eating beside us and the kids had food on the floor, due to the hot weather there were a lot of flies about and they were congrigating around the food on the floor. “We had a wonderful 3 days here. The accomodation, staff, food, facilities location and views were all excellent. A lovely relaxing break.”

“Over priced and the quality doesn’t match the price. Our room was in need of an upgrade, it was noisy from the road traffic and the bathroom door was rotting from damp. There was damp around the shower. The bed was only marginally more comfortable than the pavement. They even tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn’t order. This was supposed to be a luxury treat, complete failure.”

“Great staff, great location and gardens. Stains on carpets in several areas, breakfast buffet disappointing, decor needs freshening up. Parking charge of £10 per night surprising and disappointing.”

“One of the few hotels in central Ambleside with lots of facilities which was a bonus. Although the sauna and steam room were a little chilly! Areas of the hotel were being upgraded with others still to do - bathrooms and main dining area.”

“Great location Very good staff. The Winander section has its own very helpful staff and breakfast with great views. The room we had was a very spacious and well designed. My only comment was a shaving mirror would have been useful given the distance to the actual mirror. The spa access for hotel Guests was somewhat more limited than expected and the outdoor areas were completely separate and require extra payment. What is left in the swimming pool area is a little bit more limited than similar...
