The day we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the booking was canceled, and we didn’t have a reservation. We were disrespected and mistreated. We have always booked our vacations through Expedia, but we were treated as if we were inexperienced and unknowledgeable. The front desk person (she claimed to be the on-duty manager) told us she had some other hotel recommendations if we wanted. She mentioned they tried to reach us, but we have not received any calls or emails in advance. We booked the hotel several weeks before, buying insurance as well. Even though insurance expires on 03/20 (Expedia emailed us about the confirmation of our booking), we found out we received an email about the failed payment on the day of the check-in. After a lot of back and forth, she gave us a room( which was not the room we paid for), after previously claiming that they were not vacant, which was a downgrade—a tiny room with two full beds and no waterfront/city view. Since we had no option after a long drive, we took it anyway. Two days passed, and we asked the room to be cleaned. The cleaners came, but they didn’t change the sheets, make the bed, or replenish toilet paper and napkins. Very disappointed.
