IBIS but even more basic

Okay so this was the 2nd IBIS we’ve stayed at in Mulhouse during our travels and by far the one needing some care and upgrades. I’m not expecting excellence with this hotel chain and to be fair the bed was comfortable and the water hot so basic needs met. It wasn’t the cleanest and the toilet seat was chipped. The wall colours were so depressingly decorated with a single red panel meant to brighten up the rooms. Breakfast was minimal ( compared for example with IBIS in Calais). The shop bought cakes were laid out in the packets and other details that looked shabby. Staff were nice and friendly. Car parking was free. Dinner was overpriced and mediocre but we’d drove from Italy so settled. Probably would give it a miss on our next European tour.

Got asked to pay the hotel fully at arrival and I forgot I already paid in Expedia. They couldn’t do the refund on site so asked a remote colleague to deal with it, I still don’t knownifninwasbtefunded successfully or not, the receptionist couldn’t confirm when I left on day 2. My bedroom was not serviced well: new towels dropped not folded on top of the toilets which isn’t the cleanest place to out serviettes. My bed wasn’t made (o did not take part in the scheme to cancel the room being cleaned in exchange of a drink so I expected to have the room serviced fully) A few bits and bobs like the soap in the shower which was not fixed to the wall (must have broke and didn’t get fixed) But bed is comfortable, breakfast is delicious, I love the size of the table for working in the bedroom, staff is polite, plenty of car park spaces (yet they must fix the potholes). Located close to a few places to eat and a big commercial center, so very good for business stay.

Ich bin viel in Ibis untergekommen bislang, jedoch war das mit Abstand das älteste und unhygienischste in welchem ich bislang war. Haare im Bad, Flecken im Bett und die Krönung waren die unzähligen Silberfische die im ganzen Zimmer unterwegs waren. Definitiv eines meiner schlechtesten Hotelerfahrungen meines Lebens!

Le restaurant ne fonctionne pas le week-end donc ce serait bien d’avoir un distributeur dans le hall. Le petit dénient est vraiment basique, produits industriels etc mais ça c’est un problème de tous les Ibis. C’est pour cela que j’évite d’ailleurs cette chaîne.
