Unfortunately, this property was very disappointing and appears to be poorly maintained. There was a significant amount of trash around the property, which took away from the overall experience. Inside the room, the bathroom ceiling was leaking, and there were areas where you could see exposed damage. The air conditioning was also essentially nonexistent, which made the stay very uncomfortable. The one positive was the staff—they were very nice, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the condition and maintenance of the property made it difficult to enjoy the stay. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and invests in improving the property.

Our experience at Hollywood Hotel was absolutely appalling. The first room we were given had non-functioning air conditioning, so we had to move rooms. Unfortunately, the second room was hardly any better — the AC was so weak that it was practically useless. Both rooms had strong smells of cigarettes and sewage, which made them extremely unpleasant to stay in. The rooms were also filthy and badly maintained, with a heavily scratched and battered headboard that looked like it hadn’t been replaced in years. To make matters worse, there was only ONE pillow on a double bed. There is also no kettle in the room and not even complimentary bottled water. If you’re travelling with children or, especially, babies, this makes the stay an absolute hell holiday. Having access to hot water and drinking water should be basic, particularly for families travelling with young children. The hotel desperately needs a major renovation. Everything feels tired, neglected and run-down. And the staff? Possibly the worst part of the whole experience. Not a single member of staff was genuinely helpful. They were rude, dismissive and completely uninterested in resolving problems. When you ask for something, you’re met with shrugs rather than assistance — as though you’re inconveniencing them simply by asking for basic hotel service. Possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had — avoid at all costs Calling Hollywood Hotel a hotel is generous. Based on our experience, I genuinely wouldn’t even give it one star. We were first given a room where the air conditioning simply didn’t work. We had to move rooms, only to discover that the AC in the second room was so weak it was basically useless. In hot weather, this is completely unacceptable. The rooms were dirty, badly maintained and smelled strongly of both cigarettes and sewage. The headboard was covered in scratches and looked absolutely battered. There was ONE pillow on a double bed. It honestly felt like nobody had bothered to check the room properly before giving it to guests. There was no kettle and not even complimentary drinking water in the room. If you are travelling with children or babies, prepare yourself for what can only be described as a hell holiday. Basic necessities that families should reasonably expect from a hotel simply aren’t provided. And then there’s the staff. Absolutely appalling customer service. We didn’t encounter a single member of staff who was genuinely helpful. They were rude, dismissive and acted as though basic requests were an inconvenience. Ask for something and you’re met with a shrug of the shoulders rather than any attempt to help. There was no warmth, no urgency and absolutely no sense that they cared about the guest experience. The entire hotel feels old, neglected and desperately in need of renovation.
