Decent property, but the experience was frustrating. Check-in was confusing, we were incorrectly charged for a second person, and shortening my stay from two nights to one involved constant back-and-forth with Expedia and the front desk. Promised refunds were never issued. Staff service really made the difference here, and unfortunately, it fell short. Overall, not worth the price.

The hotel had everything in my list; beautiful ocean front views, pleasant staff, clean rooms, great breakfast, walkable main street with plenty of restaurants to choose from and even couple bakeries and a small grocery store. I highly recommend the hotel and will definitely be staying there again.

We loved our stay here. The grounds were very well kept and the rooftop was such a lovely getaway spot. The guy who worked at bar was extremely helpful and always made sure the jacuzzi and pool was in perfect condition. The location of the hotel is perfect everything you need is right along the same street.

Cosy little stay on the sea

This place is amazing, the views are incredible. Facilities are very nice. The only issues are no aircon or fan so it gets a bit hot at night I had to leave balcony door open for airflow.

The hotel is small with a variety of terraces where you can relax, dip in a pool or hot tub. It has been thoughtfully decorated in a nautical themed pale blue and white. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable . The only thing lacking was air-con.

Unfortunately, not recommended at all. On the day of arrival, the hotel hosted a private party, so the entire pool area was closed and the music was extremely loud – relaxation was impossible. In the room, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. It was too noisy outside to keep the windows open at night, yet there was no ventilation or air conditioning. But the worst part was the food: The breakfast was careless, using the cheapest and lowest-quality ingredients. Dinner was even worse, served in a restaurant 100 meters away, with a very limited selection. Portions were significantly smaller than what regular restaurant guests received, and both quality and taste were awful. The restaurant rightly has poor reviews on Google. My advice: Avoid this hotel, even if it looks nice in pictures. Don’t be misled by the many very good reviews – I bet some of them are fake.

Le cadre vue océan est magnifique surtout au coucher du soleil. Le petit-déjeuner est servi par une équipe très conviviale et celui-ci est copieux et varié. Nombreux commerces et restaurants à proximité accessible à pied. La musique tardive du bar de l'hôtel situé en terrasse supérieure serait à revoir au niveau sonore et horaire. Merci pour l'accueil.

It's a 2* hotel!!!

Warning: this is not a 4-star hotel as listed on Hotels.com – it’s only a 2-star! First of all, there’s no air conditioning – and in hot weather, that’s absolutely essential! Also, even though it's not the hotel's fault, in June there were major roadworks happening right below the windows. Work started before 8 a.m. and continued until late in the evening – and in some spots (very audible!), workers were even active at night to speed things up! Earplugs were absolutely necessary to get any sleep. Almost all the restaurants nearby were closed, likely due to the construction – they were inaccessible and everything was covered in dust, so no terrace dining either. One thing we really appreciated, though, was the warm jacuzzi and the pool with a beautiful sunset view. Breakfast was decent for a 2-star hotel. But the price for what is in fact a 2-star was higher than what we paid for a 5-star in Funchal – €296 for 2 nights. Had I known it wasn’t a true 4-star, I wouldn’t have booked at that price.

Nice place to stay outside of the hustle/bustle of Funchal, close to hikes. Construction on beachfront supposed to be done by early summer according to locals. Great restaurants, bar and bakery on the street for evening options, but a bit limited for longer stays. Hot tub was really nice set up, but had wildly ranging temperatures from 32 degrees Celsius to 47 at one point, so was often not really usable. Often opened our window as the room would get quite stuffy after a hot shower. Staff are lovey.
