The location is a little out of the way. We did not try the bar or food onsite but heard it was very good. The facility is dated and in need of a big facelift. Staff was great but we did have housekeeping walk in the room at 8:30 without knocking. Front desk staff were awesome.

Beautiful sunrise

Our stay was nice and the hotel was quiet. We just needed a place to sleep for the night but there were lots of restaurants accessible by car and it has a golf course. We got to watch the sun come up from our balcony.

Motel 6 on a golf course. Over priced and not very many options in the vicinity, old building and rooms, dirty rug carpet like in an old restaurant, run down, poor water pressure. Will work if your in a pinch.

The pool was closed down 2 of the 3 days we were staying there. Breakfast was not served even though the email received for check in states breakfast. The floor of the kitchen in our room was sticky and there was no soap to wash the dishes. The cable box wasn't working and needed to be reset twice during our short stay. Asked for a final receipt to be emailed and still have not received.

Mildly Dated and there's an 11/day resort fee that I didn't know about until after I booked a non refundable stay(my fault for not checking) but as its one of only two hotels in Santee not a lot of choice as the other is on a busy road.

Photos (and price) implied an elegant resort but it was an average hotel. Very limited front desk hours made it difficult to get needs met. Onsite restaurant had delicious food and good service. Pool was pleasant and open until 10 pm but pool towels were only available during limited hours in the afternoon and $15 fee if you didn't return each day during those hours.

At first glance, I was a bit hesitant to book a room here since it was located in a small golf resort (we are not golfers). However, when we arrived, we found a super clean and comfortable room. Our room was located in the bungalow-style units (not the 2-story lodge) that are located at the edge of the parking lot, away from the main resort complex. Our unit was peaceful with a nice grassy area outside. Comfy bed, warm shower and basic amenities. It’s not a fancy place and it’s a bit dated, but a very pleasant place to stay. We would definitely stay at the Carlton Oaks again.

Always a good stay

We have stayed here many times. Its a good location for our needs. Its clean. The pool area is nice however, the sectional sofa is disgustingly dirty. We layed towels over it just to sit on it. The restaurant is good. We really enjoy having our meals on the outdoor patio overlooking the golf course. The entire staff at the resort are very friendly. The bedding is comfortable but the rooms are very outdated. The walls are dark and the furniture clean but worn. There is no convenient bedside place to plug your phone in. The in room refrigerator is great to have.
