Staff are amazing people. Great vibes. We were able to rent jet skis. The food is fresh and they have complementary breakfast. We stayed in the room that is on top of the water, if you get sea sick don’t get this room. It was beautiful experience. The view was great. You can swim in the lake or you can swim in their pool.

It blows my mind how much people will nitpick for a $35 a night lakeside view hotel. The rooms look exactly as they do in the photos. Yes, it looks hand built and there are some cracks in the walls, but it's also literally overhanging the lake. There's also bug nets, fans, and an AC so you'll be fine. The place appears to be run by 3/4 staff but they will do anything within their power to make you happy. Beers are cheap, food is a bit pricy but of course you're paying for the convenience. The breakfast and coffee included was delicious. One minor thing I noticed; the pool could've been a little bit cleaner. Loved this place will definitely come back in the future.

Interesting rustic stay

The panoramic cabin is a basic shed with rudimentary electricity and plumbing. It’s more like camping with an outhouse included. There are gaps in the clapboard siding walls you can see through. It’s sold as rustic but it’s barely inhabitable. On the positive side the family that runs it were gracious and kind people. They were helpful and offered assistance in going into town. There recommendations to go to El Congo made our stop in Lake Coatepaque a wonderful memory point. Possibly the other rooms offer a better experience.
