Las Hamacas was perfect for our first trip to Melaque! The location is hard to beat and the view from our room was breath-taking. We found our room to be clean, well-stocked, with a very well-stocked kitchen. I will say, as others have also noted, there is live music at the restaurant from 2 - 4pm Mon - Wed, at least the week we were there. The place is hopping and the band is great. But do know the sound is all-encompassing if you have a beach-facing room. The Las Hamacas staff were super-friendly, quick to respond and helpful in suggesting alternative ways to the airport, thank you staff!

Great small hotel in the heart of PV. Can walk to everything. Rooms are newer and clean. Rooftop was great for watching sunset. Secure parking was limited but a good addition.

It’s an older hotel but the room was very clean and well equipped in kitchen. Pool was too hot for swimming but the beach is right behind. Staff were excellent and accommodating. There is a restaurant right behind the building on the ocean, good food and you get a discount as a guest. Lots of restaurants, shops and bus within walking distance. We would stay again.

Could really use a microwave and coffee maker in the kitchen. Also surprised there was no soap provided in the bathroom. And we were not allowed to take towels to the beach. The kitchen is not well equipped.

This was the first time my husband and I had been to Melaque and we had no idea where to stay. We were so happy with Las Hamacas. Sylvia was so helpful when we first arrived. She spoke very good English which was great for us. The property is beautiful, right on the beach. The pool area was lovely and was a great place to meet other people. The staff is always cleaning, sweeping, emptying garbage, etc. It was one of the best maintained properties that we saw. Our unit was large with a huge kitchen/sitting area. And the bedroom, too, was huge, with 2 double/queen beds. The only complaint, but it’s not a complaint about the hotel, is that our bedroom was on the street side. It was never very noisy at night, but the traffic and trucks and buses start their day early around 5:30. We’re early risers, often heading to the beach to watch the sun rise, so it didn’t affect us very much. We would HIGHLY recommend Bungalows Las Hamacas.

Location was fantastic. Short walk from bus depot, shops, banks, and restaurants. They have music at the restaurant there some afternoons. Lovely to sit at the tables on the beach. Very basic hotel. Did not get the room we booked (which they blamed Expedia for, but later admitted was their error) so were shown alternatives - two of the rooms did not have windows in the bedrooms! cement cells! So were given another room, which we had to move from after a few days. Very little kitchen equipment - plastic dishes, one very dull knife, very bent and scratched frying pan. They brought us a toaster and drying rack when asked (no towel bar in bathroom). Had to buy water to drink. Very little lighting, only a light in the ceiling fans in bedroom and kitchen area, so it was very dark trying to prepare food, and there were no lights by the beds so impossible to read. The beds were a bit firm but comfortable. The hotel could use some cleaning and painting. All chairs and seating benches were wood or cement in both the rooms and common areas, with very flimsy vinyl cushions, so the only comfortable place to sit was on a bed with no headboard. The only hot water was in the shower, which took about 20 mins to heat up. None in kitchen or bathroom sinks. Sylvia, the manager, was very nice and helpful. She was the only staff member who spoke English. Quite quiet for the most part. Pool and outdoor areas shut down at 9:00. Gates to street and beach closed at 10:00 so felt safe.

The property is a little finished, the rooms need more attention, one thing I didn't like is that the bathroom is inside the room and there is no privacy at all, we found the counter dirty, one thing to make orange juice was super dirty,

We had high hopes of enjoying the advertised beach access included in the price. Unfortunately, we were kicked off the beach during the holiday because it was reserved for private parties unless we wanted to pay extra per person for access. The hotel staff were abrupt and unfriendly, and there were extra fees for everything, making the stay feel more like a money grab. It was misleading to advertise beach access only to take it away or pay extra. Overall, I was not satisfied and would not recommend this hotel for genuine beach access during holidays. Save your money and choose a place that honors its commitments to guests.

The rooms are very basic. Beds were comfortable but no comfie seating. All wooden chairs in kitchen and one folding lawn chair on the balcony. If you want drinking water it will cost you 55 pesos for a 5 gallon bottle. No beach towels so bring your own. Housekeeping by request only. Had to sign for the TV remotes as well as air conditioner remotes and handed 4 bath towels at check in that had to be returned upon check out (along with remotes and key). The staff at front desk were very nice, Sylvia speaks excellent English. The restaurant/bar staff were great, they bust their butts every day serving great food and drinks. Lucy and Luka were amazing.

Todo muy bien, pero cuando reportamos el minisplit por que no funcionaba el sr. Se molesto y empezo a grabar sin pedir autorizacion y en el video sali yo, deberian de tener un protocolo si se trata de enviar algun tipo de evidencia sobre las fallas de los aparatos electrodomestico, las instalaciones y habitaciones super bien equipadas y limpias.

Everything at this hotel was great except allowing 17-20 loud, noisy, disrespectful people in the pool/hot tub pool til 9:00pm on 2 nights of our stay. As this hotel is located on 2 sides of the main street the guests should be required to use the pools on the side where their unit is located. Apart from that...all is very good.
