In morro bay there are 3 decent small hotels. Ascot Suits was the best. Not anymore. There are signs of neglect everywhere- strained corridor carpets, worn floors in the rooms, spiderwebs in corridor windows. But the lobby is clean, roof patio is great, the sheets and pillows are very clean, TV is large. The prices are decent. Wish the corporate owner spends more on upkeep.

Parking was good. Room was big, but average. USB outlets didn't work. Fire alarm was disconnected and placed on mantle by fireplace. One window would not open. They accommodated pets, which was primary reason we chose place. Would I stay there again? Not for the price I paid.

We did not check out the gym so cannot comment on that aspect of the property. Our room was very large and comfortable, the location is perfect , walking distance into the quaint town. Breakfast included sausage, eggs, pancakes, cereal, bagels, toast , yogurt, juice, coffee…something for everyone! Non smoking was a bonus for us! I will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Staff was wonderful, room was spacious with lots of storage for my stay. Parking is easy and well lit at night. They have community microwaves so that was convenient. Great shower, large bathroom.
